    Hi All,
.aa is Audible's proprietary audiobook extension. Perhaps someone here knows if it's possible to convert *.aa to the easier MP3 format. Thanks and appreciation!

Hi, perhaps my question doesn't relate fully to the post, but I often need to transcribe mp3 to text.

Does anyone know a reliable and automatic way to convert a mp3 to text?

I know a method on the mac side of things using a program called Audio hijack, unfortunately it requires some internal chaining in order to control the output to get it as a dictation, speach to text. Not always work, so it can be pretty frustrating.
If you know something else for windows, mac or Android, pls could you share it?

    Thanks.

Huge thanks Mr_Amine! Found exactly what I needed.

Aimersoft DRM Media Converter is the business although it's slow to convert - almost slow enough to set an aa file running and use something like TotalRecorder to record the audio and save the resulting file as an MP3.

Thanks for the tip, sadly for this one you need to type the words. I'm referring to something where the transcription is done by the software, or the program allows the audio file be reused as dictation for the voice recognition built-in engines of the computer. In the past adobe audition had a feature where the text was deployed as xml.

    Hi Rolma,
Have you checked out Dragon Naturally Speaking? LINK
I've never used it but I understand DNS needs a little (or more) training. If you change the input voice = more training. The purpose of this training is to teach DNS's interpretation algorithm the fingerprint of a particular voice. This is AI territory and we're not there yet :)

I should.... I have the program, and I remember does something like that. Im not certain if it takes mp3 files as input source...

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Totally possible! First, go search online audio converters, some of them might be able to convert AAX to MP3 for free.
If you don't mind spending a little money, then go for some professional tools.
