This debate stretches beyond "Too many loops", the heart of this debate is the opinion of musicians who plays instruments Vs. other type of producers who makes music but not necessarily know how to play music. However, when these songs reach the radio, the clubs, wherever they get airplay, if it's good, it's good.Beyond the Critics, the real core of people listening to music on a daily doesn't sit around pounding how the record was made and are these loops or where they downloaded from Audioz.
I respect and like real musicians. As a matter of fact, I'm huge fan and respect guys like Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones; Groups like U2, Coldplay and everybody in the game who display a huge side of talent and creativity. However, nobody gonna sit around and tell me that what Kanye, DJ Premier, Skrillex, Avicii, etc... produce are not music because they use loops or they sample. Nobody gonna tell me that I can't make magic with a piece of loop. It's nice to know that you are multi talented and plays multiple instruments, I can only applause you on that but every piece of music and every musicians or producers can't be equal to you and your skills; fortunately, it is not a mandatory degree that anybody gotta have to put out a piece of track.
Music itself is not created equals, there's no book in the world written by whoever, that would tell you that music is produced in 3 or 4 or 5 or... ways. The way to create music is unlimited. Yes, there are music theory, structure, basics and so forth but when taking in, a producer can do as he/she feels in turning them into a piece of music.
There are guys in the industry who are beyond knowledgeable in reading and writing music but they'd not dismiss any other producers talent for what it's worth. Jamie James & Terry Lewis made many stellar production albums for Janet Jackson using mainly loop based production. Unless you go and see where these loops came from, you'd not know which songs they chopped them off from to make not one songs but entire albums (and that's just one example). Akai and Korg made a living off their sampling products which create loop based music but yet, Fender, Ibanez, Schecter never ran out of customers to sell their guitars. We still have tons of Philharmonic and Jazz which are truly just a true musician type of music.

To say somebody can't build somebody else idea to create a new piece has been proven false many times over and that's the only thing I'd argue because if its true than the whole side of the business called REMIX would be non-existent. A lot of name I could drop right now, would have never been heard of (Dave Aude, Jumpsmokers, Moguai, Benassi, etc...). My heart is into remixing (which is a whole industry in itself), I track it and learning it day in and day out. I've spent time to know its history, the main players who started it, how it becomes the monster it is today. So, I know the importance of loops and what they can do. You being a (musician) producer is different than me (and others) who are (loop based) producers. For Dance music type of production which is at its peak nowadays in the radio then these loops have a lot of importance. I can't talk for every individuals here and what they do with them but I know their values. Yes, a huge amount of them are worthless, but it doesn't bother to check them out every other day to see what's out.
Bottom line we all have our place in the history of music. We use different tools and different techniques. We'll have different ways of seeing the industry, we'll disagree on what's the best sounding music or not. However, one thing we'll never be able to do is cancel each other out.
With that said, I heard your tracks and you sound very talented. Good luck with your music career and endeavor but please let my loops side alive cause I need them for my remixes work :). Peace!!!

    Thanks.
    hmm i call it indie.
    cool song btw.

do you have any song you want to show? would be interesting to hear.

    glad you like it.
the song are not even close to be finished. the first one needs vocals, more guitars and a some more basslines. and it need to build up more, start with less stuff and evolving to a crescendo.
the second one is just a draft. the vocals are recorded spontaneously with a bad mic.
and when i record songs "for real" i do it in a studio with people how knows better than me :)

what about you. what music do you make?

    best regards.

    I had my coming out on 03 January 2012 - 11:59 PM: http://audiosex.pro/index.php?/topic/1487-my-humble-tunes/
two or three loops used in the first track... e.g. a retuned lead/pad loop - sidechain gated, triggered by a percussion loop
