I just admire people who are able to crack/reverse simple + also difficult stuff.
To me it's not very important if you use Mac or PC, both are just tools not more.
As known EVERY software has its weak points, not one is invulnerable in reality...
...it's like with people. No matter how big the beast may look it will be defeated
once you find its weak points. A hint: learn from history!

 

Judging from what you say, it sounds like you have never used a Mac OS.

• Maybe you should know that the Mac OS is a Unix-like.
• Hardware and Software marry perfectly.
• The UI and UX of a Mac is better than Windows.
• The Dock is much more efficient to use than the Windows start menu and taskbar.
• Quick Look lets you view pretty much all major file formats by clicking on the file and pressing the space bar - no need to wait for an app to launch. Windows simply does not have this.
• Every version of OS X has sophisticated screenshot capability built in. CMD + 4 Provides a marquee selector. CMD + 4 + Spacebar takes just one window. CMD + 3 takes the whole screen. You can Set the format of the screenshot file and where Mac OS saves it.
• A Mac has a life span twice as good as that of a PC.. And its power to resale is much better than a PC.

And there are dozens of other reasons. I'm not dismissing the Windows nor I hate it, but let's be feasible. I am no Apple fan boy (I've used Windows, Unix and various Linux flavors.), but it is not a question of defending one and despise the other. It's about being realistic. Mac is better.

It is somewhat anachronistic arrive in 2015 and see that there are people who have rancid against Mac OS.

Sometimes threads in AudioSex are very advanced, but there are times when it seems that there are people who are still in the 90s - It can even discouragement. Sometimes the discussions are superficial. Other times there are expressions of hatred and resentment - people take things too personally and show no respect to other members.

There is a ridiculous side argument going on in this thread. Windows? Mac? . . . Who the hell cares? Use toilet paper if you like. Why would any of us care what the other prefers to use? I never did get this old argument.

Man, the points you put there is not technical criteria for analysis. Your points are very superficial and very subjective.

I'm talking about UX, UI, hardware quality, architecture, design, ecosystem, durability, resale value, free OS and free Apps, relative bliss with the lack of viruses, Time Machine, iCloud, simple upgrade, lower maintenance costs (ask an IT manager which system is cheaper in terms of maintenance). And each of these items are an big universe that would take hours discussing.

If we get ONLY three points (resale value, quality hardware and durability) and analyze over 2 years, you will see the Mac is cheaper than a PC. (without to mention that the Mac OS is FREE). So, If you put everything in pencil, the Mac is much cheaper than PC. No doubt.

It's all about Design, bro. And if we're discussing about design, It's better put on the table some principles of Dieter Rams. And design is a very huge theme. It has nothing to do with aesthetics only.

I thought we could discuss things about UX, design, architecture, etc. I'm wasting my time trying to discuss the stuff in more deep - I thought that some guys could go into the details here, but it seems that I am wrong.

On my side, i like OSX but i hate Apple merch (that's why i use hackintosh). A Mac is no more than a dedicated PC designed by Apple.
Same components...and that's why they fry like others when they use a crappy nVidia GPU

Same components? All computational system and design project comes down to just components? Are you seriously?

All the effort of a large team of engineers who struggle with miniaturization, space, accessibility, UX, UI, performance, new materials research comes down to just components?

A ferrari model car comes down to just ordinary car parts? A Swiss clock comes down to just parts? A good restaurant comes down to just sauces and ingredients?

Seriously, I'm very impressed with the vision of computer here. I thought people here have a deeper vision (especially with your machine of music).

This is the problem of having everything easy on the Internet. You cannot value the things and by consequence you cannot to have a deep insight. You don't get to value an object/service. Tends to generalize all on the same level, making everything as commodities.
