EDIT: This is about Drums,Claps,SFX,Percussion. Not about Vinyl or Kontakt.

There are 1000's of samples out there, but only one or two sample pack has raw samples. Others are sounding shit (Too much processing).

Records released at 2007 and later has amazing samples and I wonder where do they get it? It sounds so clean and neat (Not Over Processed)

I'm talking about samples that actually sound good without any processing. Please don't say "EQ this or Compress that" (*Polish a shit* = *Polished Shit*)

Sample Magic is the only sample pack that sounded okay, so far out of 80GB Samples, I've downloaded.

It's 2015 and We are still downloading shitty samples (sampled from records). That's something we should think about.

What do you think about this? Is there any solution?

    (Sorry for the language)

EDIT: I'm not talking about Vinyl.

Your references records use same samples pack as you can find here and there.
The fact is the dudes behind the song wasn't whining 'Please don't say "EQ this or Compress that"' on forums.
If Calvin Harris is your thing , Vengeance packs (minimal house, electroschock, ...) is what you're shooting for.

Well, i highly disagree with the rather one sided view on samples.

Almost every single Kontakt instrument is composed of individual samples. So your saying they are shitty?

Maybe samples are shitty for your genre (presumably EDM). If EDM then there is only 10 samples you need to find or create. Drums. Everything else is synths.

And your also saying sampling from RECORDS (assume you mean vinyl) is shit? Again, maybe for your genre. But i know old jazz/blues vinyl samples are extremely useful in hiphop and rnb and similar styles.

If you cant make music with thousands of terabytes of samples (that you say are shit), then maybe it isnt your profession or proper hobby?

Or the proper way to deal with dissatisfaction, do it yourself. Make 'pro-grade' samples.

I just find this beyond foolish of a statement, "It's 2015 and We are still downloading shitty samples". Thumbs Down.

Don't think there is a solution. They are easy to use & accesible etc. They have their inherent good points & bad points like u say.

I think the best thing personally would be to examine what would fit your style of music and then make an informed choice about what u need to get the results you need.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of mass turned out sample packs etc but they can be handy for some people I guess. They also pretty pricey imo.

Sure bulid yourself a range of sample packs but be very selective about what exactly u need and don't just buy one after the other when maybe this or that doens't sound right.

Find what u need for your for your field/ideas and read as much as u can about those using artists setups and their tools such tools & then weigh up well are 100 sample packs going to serve my needs more specifically than a virus T1 or Nord etc.

I think a lot of people use them for an easy way out whereas those who maybe use them the to their advantage are very selective about how & when they use them and all ready know virtually what they are going to do with them.

Best advice research the field you are in as much as possible and make an informed choice (budget restricting of course) about what is going to get the job done for u.

Is it better to have 100 quality sample packs or a quality setup with 1 or two key bits of hardware for ect. Is a hard desicion that only u can find the answer to I guess. Plus you have to take into account Royalties etc when with maybe hardware that not a problem.

Best of look searching & finding the path that will get the job done for u. No right or wrong intended either

Only a couple samples are usable in Vengeance, It's over-processed. If the Sample sounds good enough without eq and stuff, it'll sound better when eq and compression is applied. I've the whole Vengeance Sample Bundle.

    First of all,

1.(Kontakt is best Sampler) I never said "Resampling is Shit", Resampling is a creative way to find new sounds.
2.Sampling from records (Meaning there are (sample pack) companies sample from records and over process them)
3.If you think there are good samples out there, Shoot out the names (Any Genre)

Well Kontakt not strictly a sampler & fro your purposes Their could be better alternatives. Sure it's sample based.

What would you consider a pro-grade sample to be? Does such a thing exist. Personally I think it's a marketing 'Industry Standard' Tactic.

My guess is that the top pros are taking a sample and then apply a whole different range of specific ideas & intentions to make that particular sample work for his song i.e he has a clear idea of what he wants to do & uses methods that make the outcome "pro-grade" and it fit the song.

As for Pro-grade Industry samples I can't personally think of any. I think they just tell u they to sell them at an over inflated price

The Thing is, I'm not asking for professional Max martin, Benny Blanco Samples. I'm just asking for some good sounding samples. You know? A Nice Clap Sample? Ex:Alesso's Productions? A good sounding snare without any processing. Not Over Distorted samples, I'm just asking for good samples, that's what i mean professional.

This is true, most of samples for EDM are just shitty.

But people can make good track while using bad sample anyway...

I've never seen Vinyl in my life. How could i hate it? I was talking about sample companies who over-process a (Over-processed Sample).

I know guys from Refune records use incredible high quality samples from drums to noise fx... they are swedes. Sebastian ingrosso give both Alesso and Otto Knows great quality samples... but i don't know where they came from. Axwell too uses great samples.

Well in that case go fro the cleanest sounding Samples, recorded well without external processing etc. I was trying to find some 909 samples. Real good ones. I was amazed at how clean, simple & un-messed with they were. They were suprisingly cheap also.

They were from tiny obscure company also not like the big samplephonics, Vengenceance etc.

After u have that quality sample in a pure form you can then apply all your post production techniques etc to make it suit your song etc.

However they not normally the huge mass produced samplepacks but come from very specialized individuals & very small companies that specialise in say a couple of fields rather than trying so sample everything possible in order to make cash because mainly they care about the product itself first & foremost.

Thats all I can say really. Good Luck

If you need pure acoustic drums as unprocessed and "dry" as possible, the old Yellow Tools Pure Drums might be your thing. They've been recorded with very little ambience and really *need* some processing to sound what we're used to, but processing is completely in your hands, if that's what you're looking for.
It's a great variety of different drums you get in the pack, and the only thing you might have to add are some nice Zildijan cymbals.
They've gotten mixed reviews back these days because of the RAW concept, but that's understandable.
