Tested it years back and found it both hard to work with, and good sounding! They have changed a lot since they started producing this drummer, and I frankly don´t know if it´s any better these days than before!

I did some experimentation with Jamstix on its first versions and it was crazy good and fun to play with. The improvisation engine is absolutely outstanding once you learn how to configure it properly.

The included drum kits weren't really the best, but it doesn't matter since it's fairly easy to use it to control other drum software like Addictive Drums.

This third version looks nice. They certainly need some help with the UI, though. It looks VERY outdated.

Anyway, this is a very underrated software, because it really is very well programmed.

If I remember correctly, the same company was planning to release an auto-bass software as well...It looks like they didn't release it so far. It should be much harder to program than drums, for sure.

 

found the new version comparable to toontrack! Being theres so many drum apps out Bfd, Toontrack XLN Audio Ect.. they really need to prove themselves here, i don't see any hype for this one with all the bigger brothers sounding better Sorry Jamstix

 

It's not really about how it sounds, brother; You can always use it to control another drum software of your preference.

It's about its improvisation engine. There's nothing really comparable to Jamstix out there, really.

As far as I know, there isn't any auto-drummmer software out there that comes even close to Jamstix.

It's a real gem for producers and musicians who have to compose their own drum tracks. The results are very organic. Much better than copying and pasting fixed midi patterns.
