I'm cool with these fixes. I love the option to customize the UI, so no complaints here. Studio One is my one and only.

It is. I'm having a CPU usage of 50% on a single kontakt instance with grand piano from factory library loaded.
Having the same loaded in Cubase 5,Ableton,FL Studio - Stays at around 12-14%

Oh man... im on the severely disappointed train with many others on the new darker UI, I think its awful, a strange mix of 2 and 3D elements and a few other things i thought were very badly done. (Deleted it so I cant load it up and go into more detail.)

    Just not for me.

You guys hated the old GUI, hate the new GUI.. give Presonus a break, they make a fantastic DAW.

I believe that with professional software, the GUI shouldn't be a factor. "Pretty" GUIs are designed to attract ignorant users.

A professional software should have a GUI that is ergonomic.

This why many Engineering CAD programs had until a few years ago and some still have Windows 2000 styled GUIs.

yeah bro i´ve heared many voices in this consent so you've got a legit point there.. but for me it´s just the opposite. i´ll love the new ui. it´s like cubase with faster workflow (ok,without that great channel strip^^).. so really not offensive .. but be aware you can configure the ui pretty much like in v2 if you are not cool with new look. check options. maybe you want to give that great daw a 2nd try...

also... only my 2 cents... in reference to these so called "memory leakes" well i don´t say that they don´t exist. but they don´t exist on my system. and the higher cpu load... pro tools, cubase, sonar, live ..they all have different meter and cpu load wise they all are showing different numbers with same plugs and same settings. but what numbers are the right ones? to be honest i don´t f.. care untill my system clips, stucks or any thing else in this way. and here s1 ist cool. there are so many people in the official forums that talk about freezes.... and after you tell them that they have to deactivate autosave to avoid these ... (lol) 95% of them are happy again.. but like i said... only my 2 cents here..

    cheers

I have used s1 and i can confirm that memory leaks are reals. Not everyone experienced, there are some videos on this also on YouTube.

I think i have changed everything on my machines every single setting and nodded every single preference file, but the problem it's still there in v3 a little bit less aggressive but it's there too.

For the GUI, I'm not against dark Gui like Logic or Cubase, both have beautiful graphics. I'm against bad GUI like v3. Things are unclear and little bit messy. Just look at solo mute buttons wich are bigger than track names, wich now at harder to read...

Colors for clip are the same and in the edit view it's still not possible to see the grid under the waveform...

I'm still using studio one v2. Since they changed the stretch algo and now it's worse.

Mykal just noticed your link to the Alien Sex Fiend video in your sig. My man. [IMG]

Starting to have a better understanding of why get along as good as we do. :mates:

And as for Studio One I'm split on the new UI. It could be a little better designed but I don't think it's the worst. In particular I appreciate the new mixer changes. With a little refinement I believe the GUI could certainly be improved. As noted by One Reason (who would know) The 2D and 3D mesh that they have going on is a little off-putting. That being said I still like it way better than the uninspiring V2 GUI so for me it's a step up.

Thanks for the info Riansky.

To be clear.. I dont hate it and theres lots of it I do like.. but it COULD be.. sooo much better.. Imo. I was disappointed to say it nicely.

'"Pretty" GUIs are designed to attract ignorant users ' ??

That's a pretty ignorant comment in and of itself.
