I'm not one for sticking things into boxes or following any rules, but I've been playing around with a few ideas and here is a little excerpt ...

Please note it is not a completed song, just a work in progress.

Edit: The track has now been removed. Thanks for all the comments, both positive and less positive

it is the famous intro/interlude/outro genre... and i think in this case is "no drums" really better.

I like it! takes me directly to another (better) world.. :blues:

There are a few cymbal hits in there but I was trying to be minimalistic on the percussion front.

I agree with the new age/experimental label with a somewhat commercial feel. It could be the background for a radio or television advertisement or even the music for a movie as the closing credits roll by. I like this even though its not my preferred genre. I agree with "no drums." This song is strong enough on its own!

Labels are difficult. Electronic laid back. Very pleasant. I agree about no drums, but maybe something in the bass register here and there.

Almost all of it was played on an electric guitar :) I agree, it could do with adding some bass

Thanks. It wasn't actually meant to be a song. I was just trying out some new software* (thank you Audioz ), so I started off playing a simple I-V progression into Reaper and got a bit carried away :)

It's fine music! *yes* I like it.
Without any drums it has more space.
To me real ambient music has no drums nor percussion line.

I'd call your genre New Age or Chill-Out.
    Btw: I'm making similar music!

    Please make this piece longer.

    Thanks mate

    @ Barn81

Not really nice what you wrote! *no*
If you prefer "bum-bum-bum-wanna-be-music" you don't have to listen to this...
The world would be a sad and poor place if just screaming music would exist.

I like to try different things.

I do some louder and more hectic guitar stuff and I also like club beats.

It all depends on the mood really.

For this piece I was testing the above mentioned software and it's what came out after a 10 minute session.

I suppose to a large extent I was influenced by the available sound pallet, and the effects of manipulating an electric guitar with Melodyne.

It's definitely something I'd like to get into more as the creative possibilities seem endless

Please take no offence, but it sounds like a 10 minute session. While some of the forum is fascinated with this piece, I have no desire to here it again or even to let my dog listen to it ether, Well maybe if he poops in the house I'll make him listen. LOL
