Hi Guys
Im running mac with OS X 10.10.2

I seem to be having some trouble and google isn't helping if anyone can help it would be appreciated
i have 8 discs mounted (1 r2r the others dynamics) when i go into installer it goes through fine except when i need to tell it where to install Steam library

Alert:
Failed to create folder:/wherever i point it to

i get the same alert when i let it go to the default location

anyone know what to do? thanks

(i posted in the installation thread but no luck so thought i would cost here)

 

you should read the other post here 8 discs mounted will give errors
better to mount one at a time and try again.

i tried the one disc that didn't work either (thanks anyway momo)
i tried following the instructions given by copylefter on the other site (1: Mount D1 and D2-D8 ) and that didn't work i tried posting in an active thread that got no results, i thought i had read all the threads including on the other site and couldn't find what i was looking for if i google for failed to open folder it doesn't work either

i think i will just forget this plug thank you to all

whats getting copy up-set is people dont read the other treads here
and just start a new topic with-out looking into it frist them selfs,
i hope you read this and droped back to get this sorted out for yourself,

steam folder should be installed into default location first, you should only mount one disk at a time

are you letting the installer have admin permissions to be able to install the folder?

I just pressed installer and everything was done .No pointing to any STEAM Folder.That is clearly mentioned in the first DVD.Please read all NFO.You dont need to point to the STEAM folder ...that's done by the installer automatically.Just see that you have enough space on you drive and ,after its done ...follow stepS 2,3,4,and 5.Its just great that we have so many people who TAKE THE TIME AND ENERGY to help all of us by giving workarounds each time they come across any installation problems.Its all there.Check our sister site and see the quotes by all members.lol

I am letting it go to the default location and still getting the error, when i try pointing to new location i also get the error
if by "letting the installer have admin permissions to be able to install the folder" you mean when the installer asks for my admin password am i putting that in Yes i am. (if there is another way to give admin rights other than the steps in the installer please let me know, i honestly don't know )

ok i have done it this way with 8 discs mounted at once and i have done it with 1 mounted (as mentioned by momo) and still get the error so can't move on to the next steps
I have enough space on the drive

(Win 8.1/64) Is it not possible to install this by not doing any 'mounting' or DVD burning? I am having difficulty even mounting, tried with two software already and getting errors. Why can't we just unpack the ISOs and place the Steam folder on another drive.

 

Installer writes some informations in Windows Registry... Have you checked your ISOs ? See here maybe some ISOs are corrupted?
Windows users: don't mount all 8 discs at the same time, but mount correct disc when asked by installer (Spectrasonics Omnisphere for first, then Omnisphere B and so on until Omnisphere H).

About DVD1: use only ISO, installers and R2R's patcher/KG enclosed in "D1 PROPER" version (don't use previous release).

 

This may take a while, hehe
I had this problem on Windows.
here is what I did.
1)install omnisphere off disc 1 proper r2r.
2)when asked to point to steam folder simply open program data folder and manually copy the steam folder from disc1 to this location. Open steam folder and unrar a components folder.
repeat the above for the rest of the discs ie. Copy the steam folder(s) from disc 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and merge each one. Now you have the full steam folder!
3)go back to installing and select the steam folder.
4) update with the tool in disc1.
5) patch plugins with r2r patched/keygen. (I was given a choice to patch the plugins in program data folder which I did BUT I also navigated to them in my vst folders and patched them again.)
6)run omnisphere and activate with r2r keygen.
7) close your daw.
8) restart daw load omnisphere.
hope this helps.

Please just delete the thread instead I didn't realize I would cause so much negativity in the forum. I was just looking for help but I should of known not to start a thread here. The issue is obviously with my computer and I shouldn't be taking up valuable space in the forum. I would feel horrible if someone got banned and I played a part in it.
