Hey guys! So I Been trying to make this bass sound but I just cant make it right

Here is the video

I Have some hardware synth like moog little phatty, ultra nova and basstation but I don't get even close.

I got something similar with a plug in but still is not the same.
Could someone help me? I don't care what synth I just need to see how this sound is made.

Maybe a FM synth (Nemesis or FM8) could do the trick?

 

Serum has some factory presets that sound almost identical to that. And so does the Nexus2 Deep House Expansion. You're talking about that deep Bassline about 1:20 in, right? If you're talking about that percussive-like sound around 1:18 in then that's not bass, that's percussion. But NI Maschine has an expansion that's called "Raw Voltage" that has a bass preset in it called "Dead" that sounds just like that. Hint: listen to the expansion's demo called "Shifting clouds". Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the if almost, if not all, the sounds in this song, were produced with that maschine expansion.

Definitely sounds FM to me. Very Lately Bass-ish. (http://www.synthmania.com/Yamaha%20TX81Z/Audio/C15%20%20LatelyBass.mp3) One of the most famous bass patches of all time.
You can make an approximation of that sound in FM8 or a TX81Z/DX11 (or just about any other 4OP FM synth that have multiple waveforms available).

 

Yeah this bass definitely has some FM character to it, so I would use Serum for this sound.... i've made a preset that sounds pretty close to it, just not sure if I can share the zippy link here so hit me up in PM

Yes the bass on about 1:20. The raw voltage have this bass? Some how I cant open the serum preset

 

The raw voltage bass sound I'm referring to is heard in this demo from NI's official Soundcloud. The bass is more "longer" than in the one in the video, and less of of "plucked" sound. However, this can be easily resolved by lowering the release and/or sustain, and/or decay, thus making it more of a plucked sound. Otherwise just play shorter note lengths. But it's pretty close to it. I could not open the Serum preset either. It says it was made with a newer version of serum. I'm on mac and I think I'm using the latest. 1.04 is the version I'm using. Haven't checked the back at the website in a while.

Also, for serum, check out Sounds to sample's "Deep House Presets For Serum". That sound bank alone has several bass presets that sound very close to the sound you want.

Checked out the download link and preset... everything seems to be working good, so i'm not sure if its the older version of Serum you're using I'll grab screenshots of the preset and post them here later

You'll find OSC 1+2 waveforms in Serum's 'Analog' WT Folder...... hopefully this helps you get the sound you're after

 

Thank you so much!!! I got a demo version it says you did it with a newest version but don't really understands because the demo supposed to be the lates. So if I borrow from papa google is not possible to load and then when i got back to the demo no sound is coming. weird
But I will try to recreate with the screen shoots

 

Yes Is happening exactly the same with me because I got the same version of you. And If I get a demo it doesn't work either. Im on mac swell. Everyone always says is a pretty common sound and that everyone use it but shit man it been so hard for me to get it haha

It will be ok if you create the same preset with the demo version from the website? Is a very old version as you can see... Shit man Im getting crazy here! I check Maschine but you don't get even closer

 

Really don't know dude would be great if the preset worked its the closest sound I have in Serum, maybe check back over the screenshots to see if you missed anything.... or if that fails follow Claytonr's advice and have a look into Sounds To Sample's "Deep House Presets For Serum".... you will definitely find some great bass presets very similar to the sound you're after.... best of luck

 

Really don't think I can install the demo dude, as it will probably start messing things up with presets and newer versions i've installed Don't forget to adjust the Unison controls in Global Tab

Haha!! So far this is the closed I have got to get this stupid bass sound which I already hate

The presets will stay the same u will just need to change the vst
