I have a project I created some time ago using a Sylenth preset that I would like to use again in a current project.

The problem is, although I can identify the name of the preset I used in Sylenth (within my DAW), I am unable to identify from which soundbank it resides.
I have far too many Sylenth soundbanks to sift through one at a time. It's practically a "needle in a haystack" scenario.

Any words of wisdom? Ideas? Good jokes?

Try Big tick's universal preset manager to find it. Once done, uninstall it.

    Sylenth is supported, they say.

    And it's free.

when you load a bank into sylenth
all the presets from that bank should be saved with your project and still in sylenth
and you can just save the sylenth bank from your old project,

if there not in sylenth when you load your old project
or if big ticks universal preset manager cant find them
post the name of the preset and ill try find it with a hex and rar
should only take a min if it works,

Open that old project and 're-save' the preset on your computer as Sylenth preset?
Start the new project, insert Sylenth and load your saved preset?

Unfortunately this is an issue I have had many times in the past with Sylenth..... still with no magic solution :snuffy: Some 'Words Of Wisdom' on moving forward is to save absolutely everything you can when working on future projects (synth presets/custom ableton racks/wavs etc) into its folder & if you save multiply versions of your projects use time/dates to keep track of latest versions. Hindsight is a bitch! Hopefully you might stumble across the sound soon when you least expect it :grooves:

Save the patch to desktop and import it in a new project.

Tick's prog crashes on me, both Mac OS versions. I'm looking for a Sylenth preset, something along the lines of italio? Arp. Anyways it's an Arp preset that sounds very old school disco. I was scrolling through presets and thought I'd come back to it to tweak it later on and now I can't find it. Just thought I'd put it out there in case any of you have seen/heard it/ know where it is, preset number of whatever.

    Good luck to the OP.

Easy: 99% of the preset bank files have the preset names in clear text.
You can use a binary search tool to find the text string with your preset name, and the tool will return all bank files that contain this string.

    You're on Windows, aren't you?
You can use the Windows search tool and search all *.fxb files for the Containing text=Your preset name goes here.
Under MacOS, you'd run Terminal in the folder with the fxb's and do a
    grep -ir your_preset_name *fxb

    Edit:
Under OS X, better put the search string inside quotes and use the -irl options because you'll want only the file names listed, not the contents

    Example:
grep -irl "Super Preset 42" *fxb

Like others have said. Sylenth lets you save the bank or the individual preset. Many older style synths like Imposcar or the Korg Vst's that use banks work in a similar way. I guess because that's how old synths with data discs worked.
Save the patch and re import it.

A while back I started naming my tracks with the presets in the name so as to avoid this problem. Makes for some long track names, but has saved me a couple times.
