Hi, just a few words to say I'm new in there and especially interested in Kontakt use... It's my favorite player/sampler but I'm only using it by playing and combining and tweaking already made presets from various collections... I'm learning with tutos I've downloaded on AudioZ (even scripting) and I'm carefully reading the huge Manual...
Hope that some posts/threads in here will be also helpfull to be more experienced with that fantastic player...

I've also converted many "old" sample collections (Akai, EMU, Kurzweil) to nki format = so, don't hesitate to contact me about it (25 000 mapped voices in about 50 collections)...

Of course Mykal, it's just playing on words! Kontakt plays samples, allows you to work on them/to map them/to slice them... how do you want us to call it then?

 

An actor acts, a farmer farms, but Kontakt cannot sample, therefore it is not a sampler but rather a sample player. It does play samples.

Kontakt is mines as well. I'm trying to figure out how to convert Kurzweil, Emu as well. I would love your help in the matter. I got a few from AudioZ.
I'm in a Mac running 10.8 and 10.9. Using Kontakt version 5.4.2.

Yes Kontakt is Awesome i have had it from the first version can't wait for Kontakt 6 i hope they do some even more innovative things with it

@MyKal: ok for the vocabulary lesson... lol... so, correction: Kontakt is my favorite "what you want" allowing huge work with samples (far deeper than my old hardware samplers)! Just check the first words I used ("player/sampler")...

Am I the only one that kind of hates Kontakt? Looks like it..
Because of it's price, it's dominant position. It's a f*cking sample player with a couple of filters for what, $500,-?
All coolness comes from the packs, not from NI. Alright, maybe I'm overreacting a little. Could be also down to the fact that I always had crappy installs that didn't last long..
But if any other Platform would arise, I would support it..
Just my $0.02
