    Hey guys,

Do you know if there's any "circle of fifths" vst plugin which enables you to select a chord and then drag and drop its midi directly into a track?

I mean, I've been using Ezkeys and it's got something like this. It's very handy when you're composing a track.

Every DAW should include this kind of tool.

Here's the Ezkeys example, so you know what I'm talking about:

    Cheers,

    Raf.

Sundog Scale Studio supports drag and drop MIDI exporting but not VST based and there is no borrow chords in it

Hooktheory can only export MIDIs, full featured (brilliant one) but unfortunately web based

J74 Progressive is a Max device so AL only and doesn't have borrow chords in it (u can create inversions with it finally using the latest update)

none of them above have voice leading support (AFAIK only the built in chord tracks in Cubase supports it alone),
anyway the best solution currently IMO is buying a Push and using step recording in the given DAW

Does seem insane that no one has developed one yet. :dunno:

I just use ezkeys.. but Id rather have something detached from an instrument.

Yes, absolutely! It's such a useful tool.

It seems that nobody has developed something like that so far, though.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, by the way; Just a "floating" interactive circle of fifths table with drag and drop midi capabilities.

This might be a good opportunity for someone who knows how to program this kind of stuff.

    ;)

AFAIK Harmony Impro hasn't got drag and drop support, so as I've written Push is the ultimate solution currently

it can be connected to any DAW with http://www.nativekontrol.com/PXT-General.html and it has fix patterns to all the scales

I think it's better to learn your chords and construct them yourself. It helps you develop your abilities.

i think the best solution here is to actually learn how these chords work. That way if you decide you still wanna use some of those plug ins, you actually can modify them and get exactly what you want.

yepp worth to mention the chord chopper and distributor category too IMO Nora is the best currently

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGbP56Yhiec

so u can double the root, move the parts to different octaves, chop them etc.
