    Hive 1.0 Ready

    Hive page

Hive 1.0 is finished and ready to share with the world—the release date is June 2nd!

The introductory price of $99 (+VAT in EU) will end on release day (12:00PM midday
Berlin time) and the new price will be $149 (+VAT in EU). We used to extend the
introductory price for a couple of weeks after release, but with the recent addition
of a reseller program we needed to change how the introductory offer works.

However, we want to ensure that u-he customers have ample opportunity to buy Hive at
the $99 price. So right now you can purchase and download the Hive 'release candidate'.
This version is the same as Hive 1.0 that will be publicly available on June 2nd. All
presets, features and bug fixes included. The only difference between the two versions
    is the price!

I wonder how many anti-warez scripts/routines have been written into it?

It's a great synth. Unfortunately, the beta tester serial was disabled after upgrading.

I'm just tired of "new something" and "new somethang"...
About price : yes, at 99 bucks, it is not so bad.
    Final price : $149

For $189, you can get Spire or Serum. Another league...
On the other side, ACE could have been twice the price : 69 bucks is an HUGE bargain.

Hive is a great synth and was a huge surprise because I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. Great news that it's final. :break:

As Artic already said, no more than usual.

Don't hold your breath, it's not gonna happen any soon, not from R2R / HEXWARS for sure. *no* (a release I mean).

One of the best synths I've used in ages.

Personally I prefer it to every other at the moment.

Extremely user friendly, great sequencing, very low cpu & making presets is real easy.

'Horses for courses' of & that but this has huge potential I reckon & $99 bucks is a steal imho.

"All of the sound is produced by u-He's Hive synthesizer, on 19 tracks. Most of the sound processing is done in-synth, too. I wanted to show off how good Hive is, so I used 12 factory presets plus 6 free presets from other sources (found on KVR) and just one of my own."

ppl who followed U-He scene releases know it is harder now
Bazille is out for 4 months. In fact, a lot of ppl don't even remember about it

We reached a point where U-He and some coders (like Synapse) make protections nearly as effective than dongles. Not by solid encryption "only", but clever checksums, calling home, system usage counters and such.
It is a pure headache. Enough to forget about doing it

On the other side, i already see secondary effects : no one speak about uncracked Dune 2 or Bazille.
Like i said before, most ppl forget about them.

Do you see many Bazille or Dune 2 soundbanks moving some air ? Not, even with the extended Bazille beta.
But you can see a lot of Spire or Serum ones already.

I think we reached, for the first time in audio scene (yes, i'm an old fart who started with 3.5" floppy copies send by mail :bleh: ), the point where SOME devs will NEED to remove their protections to raise hype.

There are some "niche" products without this problem, because they are aimed at ppl making money FOR SURE (mixing engs fix what they charge BEFORE working...not music makers).
So Flux, Vengeance plugs, Softtube... will still sell without any trouble.

But synths and "creative" effects makers will have a hard time convincing ppl without any regular income to invest in the last new uncracked thing. And so, less visibility.

Even DAWs can be like this : Sensomusic Usine is the best live DAW ever made. It is a kind of Ableton+M4L on steroid, and cheaper. But no ones care : it is not cracked since day one, unlike Ableton or Bitwig *no*

    Pipotron3000 is right ... I'm not encouraging piracy , but ...

    Sylenth +1000 banks
    NI FM 8 +1000 banks
    Spire +50 banks
    Serum +30 banks
    Korg +1000 banks (all synths)
    Zebra254 +150 banks

I'm not a musician , music producer etc . I just want to hear , play a little once in a while , without noises , sound drops etc ...

As a preset wore (i always start with a preset, and tweak it. Never from scratch), i check possible soundbanks expansions BEFORE even considering buying a synth.

Even if it is a fantastic synth, i would never buy Dune 2 because it is uncracked and so with almost no third party banks :dunno:
Check how many ppl bought it, and are begging now to get soundbanks for it on AZ

May be because i'm against capitalism and the usual "it is not cracked so i NEED (want) to buy it...even if i don't really need ("lack" meaning) it". This mental trick doesn't work with me :bleh:
