Thanks for the demo but after hearing these, I'm not sure: 60 GB on my HD for sounds that have been heard before with Spire, Massive, Sylenth or Serum... to name just four.

Is Omnisphere 2 only good for EDM or do they have other interesting sounds (assuming someone is not into EDM)?

 

Hi Mr Psanter,

Omnisphere has a lot more than EDM sounds. But my demos are more oriented EDM (even if I don't really produce EDM) because this is a brand new section in Omnisphere 2. A lot of Omnisphere 1 users were complaining that it was more oriented towards movie scores (Hans Zimmer-ish), so I guess Spectrasonics has listened and added this EDM section. Again, the patches I am playing are straight from the library because I don't want to alter their nature since it would not be faithful to the sound demo concept in itself. However, you can tweak them infinitely, or even create your own ones from scratch. For now, I am only making sound demos for potential buyers/upgraders who are not into creating their own sounds and want to hear what the new library has to offer, but I plan on making Omnisphere tutorials in the future.

Are you serious? Of course not, they're leads. He composed the demo with MIDI.

 

You are welcome, toshfox. Catalyst is right, the demos are played. They are not pre-programmed patterns or arpeggios. But you can program patterns via the ARP function in Omnisphere 2 and then, you would be able to trigger chord patterns via only one key. In my opinion, it would be counterproductive as you would spend more time setting it up rather than just playing the chord patterns directly on your keyboard but hey, it's a possibility
