If this topic has already been discussed I beg your pardon.

I don't know wheter Service Center works also with a non legit version of Kontakt, thus it is preferable blocking Service Center accessing the net with a firewall or Little Snitch?

    Thanks

It's better to block apps which are needed to be blocked.
Service center isn't a real big deal.

    Little Snitch is a firewall.

    I thought u had Komplete 9 Ultimate?

If u block the service centre from accessing the net how u gonna get updates for all your other programs?

Service centre just for registering libraries etc. The whole point of unlocked Kontakt is that it does not perform a registration check but once u add those libraries via the tab it will be added to the service centre. Doesn't mean u have to reg it though to run it on unlocked kontakt.
You can have your legit libraries registered and just leave the others unregistered and still run them on unlocked kontakt. However u will not be able to run them on legit Kontakt

    Thanks Clandestine
    You're right, I own Komplete 9 Ultimate.
My concern is that using a non legit version of Kontakt and several non registered libraries might result in a possible legal prosecution :dunno:
If Service Center always gets in touch with Native Instruments, it keeps track of what is legit and what is not.

The courts would be overun with prosecutions if that were the case

    That ain't gonna happen.

I am not advocating the use of "warezed" software in any way but as far as I know you cannot get prosecuted in this country at least for using such software. Distribution of such is a different case. The law may be different in other countries though.

My best advice is re-read the thread already posted which contains all the relevant information you need.

NI are not tracking who is using warez software etc. They don't really need to & probably don't care. People buy NI stuff because it is quality & offered at a reasonable price. They allready have a huge monopoly on the market & personally I am a huge fan and will continue to buy their stuff.

The service centre is simply there so that u can register your software with NI with the serial provided & add it to your account. Mostly libraries encrypted in NKX format or the new extra secure NKS Monolith are Kontakt player libraries.

However due to NI's up front pricing policy for serial Numbers & encryption MOST devs choose not to encrypt their libraries allthough some watermark but this is simply to determine who is sharing/stealing what.

U can even register unlocked software in certain cases.

If at all possible keep your komplete 9 library seperate & run it on a different machine & simply run an unlocked version of Kontakt on a spare machine if u have one.

There are many ways around your problem which the MAC guys here have already outlined.

U can even register your legit libraries thru the service centre & leave your non-legit unregistered & they will still function in unlocked kontakt even though they picked up as unlocked bypasses service centre checks.

From my own viewpoint you have plenty of material contained within Komplete 9 to serve most of what u may need. There are also many free libraries available & u can always look for alternatives to libraries you want etc.

However I'm not going to be all hypocrite & that. I've used & still use such software but purely on a basis as to evaluate & determine what to buy. Try B4 buy & all that. You'd b suprised at the amount of stuff u find u don't really need once u start making music etc & probably u can throw away 95% of what u have collected.

However what u do is up to u & I wish u the best of luck.

    Thanks Clandestine
I will thoroughly read out Mac-Kontakt threads hoping to understand the way to go.
Using a spare hackintosh to make some trials is a good advice.
