    Hi all,

I was using Refuse Software's Lowender and i clicked the button for checking updates. My browser opened with FBI warning and saying their standart warning message about copyright infringement.
Below that it showed my IP adress and said it is logged. I live in Germany and i dont know if it will bring any consequences. I am a littlebit scared now.
    Anyone has experiences about?

    Thnx in advance

PS: I didn't know which category to put this post, so i put it here. I hope its ok.

It's just a psychological scare tactic to get you to not use pirated software. MeldaProduction includes some nonsense like that too. Stupidest shit ever. And as you can see, it's done absolutely nothing to stop people from using their products.

Probably FBI should take care of their asses and the asses of other criminal agencies that think they pursue "the law".
    -1 for them

Thnx for the answers. I am eased now. :)

And why i did this was because i wanted to get the version number. It was nowhere on the plugin, or i couldn't identify it. So i didnt know that it would open my browser. I just think that it gives me the versionnumber saying that i have the actual version or that my version is bla bla and there is a new version, or something like that.

    *puuh* :D

PS: by the way, this time my post showed on audioz imediately, without waiting 10 hours. Have changed somthing?

Haha, I also just tried it. You used the pre generated XML with the Username "Reverse To Revolutionize" in it, dont you? Everybody can have this FBI Warning. Simply follow the update link and change your user name to "Reverse To Revolutionize" .. Here is the link:

    https://www.refusesoftware.com/check_for_updates/2/win/vst/1.3.0/Reverse%20To%20Revolutionize

    usually the link would be:

https://www.refusesoftware.com/check_for_updates/2/win/vst/1.3.0/YOUR_USER_NAME (the name you used in the keyGen)

and when you check the site with your individual user name you will not have the FBI warning but simply something like "SORRY Username not found - could not determine if your software is up to date". This is simply because they blacklisted and redirected R2R default name.

BTW...Write "UNION" (the scene group that released it) instead of "Reverse To Revolutionize" also will show the FBI Warning!

HAHA...This is going to save my day! Just tried "Audioz" at the end of the update link! FBI-Warning! But the forgot to blacklist "Audiosex" .. Maybe someone should give them a hint!

Do you really think FBI will give a notice to german police because someone uses a pirated version of a 20$ Plugin? I guess they have better things to do..And by the way. Using pirated software is not forbitten in germany...only sharing it is.

I don't know how things work over their in Germany but worst case is that your isp will send you a warning letter.. Like 3 strikes type of thing like they do here in New Zealand although i got that message before and nothing came of it.

But this is absolutely bullshit in this case. You can also click on the link I provided above and you end on this page! Even if you never had used Refuse Software's Lowender. So this is definetely no evidence. This site is simply to frighten users...nothing more!

Hi Lukeh . Thnx for your reply. MY concern was, that US and German authorities are working together also in copyright infringemet business. One friend of my get sued for downloading just for only one film from torrent. And he had to pay more than 1000 bucks. I know that torrent is not only downloading also sharing and this is forbidden in germany but hey you cannot be carefull enough. And you know this with Vorratsdatenspeicherung (datapreservation) Law? Its just a time that they will get it through.

    And Pilzy du Penner :DDDD
