Ableton Live is my main DAW.I wanted to use FL Studio 12 as a secondary one and also to use as ReWire Slave to Live.Liked the interface of FL 12 and under the hood improvements.Really nice.

SO anyways to the point, this issue may be one of the most annoying thing in FL.I use a custom 64 bit and 32 bit VST folder(for installing 32 bit VSTs and to bridge them into 64 bit) which I use for Ableton and Ableton scans them perfectly.NO ERRORS!

But when I select the same 64 bit VST folder for FL Studio's extra plugin folder,it scans some of them but majority of them are some numbers or some shit or labelled as Generic Processor and they are in numbers of thousands!!!(must be them fake entries :snuffy: )This same thing happened to me in FL 11.I tried to open some projects but plugins like Massive and Zebra failed.FL gives the error that it didn't find the plugin and crashes itself.

Everything is installed properly.Every single plugin works perfectly in Live.Even the bridged plugins work awesomely in Live.
Don't know what's wrong with FL :dont:

Please somebody reply with a fix on this frustrating issue. It's driving me sooo crazy :excl: F*** FL lol

Or should I deep scan the plugin folder? Will it fix it?

are you trying to use 32bit FL with 64bit plugins, or vice versa?

I have no errors with any plugins :dunno:

FLStudio 11/12 installs both 32bit and 64bit versions

I have same problem.. i hate the way FL handles VST... its really a dealbreaker for me

  6. I have no idea what those numbers signify but I believe the Generic Processor stuff is from Waves plugins. It is a pain in the ass,and if you say you have thousands of them then you must have a great shitload of vsts installed. The new way of scanning sucks also except for the fact that it shows you the new installations. I have been duped a few times with the ridicules way effects and generators get thrown together so that when you want to put it in your "favorite" categories it informs you that you made a mistake. I am beginning to migrate away from FLS and am toe dipping in the Studio One 2 pond. Old dogs and such, I am slow on the uptake but will persevere.

    Just some ideas :

    1. You can right+click on each 'genericprocess' and delete by hand. (inside of FL in the browser.)

    2. Try doing a deep scan, and tick "verify plugins". (maybe)

    3. go to FL program data folder (C:\programfiles etc... etc...) , look in TOOLS folder, run the pluginscanner *.exe program (and do it there)

Don't know why REAPER'S vst management is still the best, it automatically organizes by : fx, instrument, vst3 etc...

...wish FL could get on board with that and make it easier. What a pain in the ass when you have to install everything from scratch on a fresh clean system.

    ** 1 more idea :

Reinstall WAVES program data files in a folder outside your VST plugins dir, and install only the waveshells to the VST directory, leaving out all of that extra file garbage.

    @ AviatOfficial,

I don't exactly know why you get all these 'GenericCoreMultiProcessor_2..._922' and 'GenericWinProcessor_2...', but I never faced that kind of trouble with any 'FL Studio Producer' Versions, even with previous ones. *no*
I can't to testify it, but it seems to me that this new Version of 'FL Studio Producer' : 'v12' is even better than any other previous one when coming to the task to handle any external 'VST & VSTi Plugins' (by external, I mean not an 'Image-Line' or 'Fruity Loops' Plugin). *yes*

In case you still don't have checked some Options concerning the handling of 'VST & VSTi Plugins' within that new Version 12, take a look at the following Snapshots that I done for you... (My Version is the 'FL Studio 12 Producer Edition v12.0.1 - 64bit' by 'Team R2R')

Read carefully all the Options available to better handle your 'VST & VSTi Plugins' within FL Studio 12

Within the 'Plugin Database', go to 'Installed' and 'right-click' with your Mouse to get the 'scrolling' Menu where you can choose 'Open', then click on it.

Normally, you should get what is depicted in this Image. As you can see it, I get the following Folders : 'New', 'VST', and 'VST3' (all these Folders contain 'external' VST Plugins, not these of 'Image-Line' and/or 'Fruity Loops')

If for instance I open one of these Folders (e.g. 'VST'), I get all my 'VST' Plugins ('Effects') that are available within 'FL Studio 12'.

It could be wise, in your case, that you perhaps use the 'Deep / slow scan (unsafe)' Option (select it), to the right of 'Refresh plugin list' under :

'Options' --> 'System' --> 'File settings'

where you can get the following Window :

    FL Studio Plugin Scanner

Within that Window, you can (on the left side) add (or remove) the exactly Paths that you want to be 'scanned' by 'FL Studio 12' in search of your installed 'VST & VSTi Plugins', then get all these 'VST & VSTi Plugins' available within 'FL Studio 12' after validation (right side of the Window)...

    ___________________________________________________________________

By the way, for those complaining about the not perfect sorting of your installed 'VST & VSTi Plugins' within 'FL Studio 12'... well, nobody forbid you to create your own 'customized' Folders (e.g. by 'Effect Types'), then simply place (move) inside these created Folders the desired Plugins to be sorted properly, or at least at your taste... *yes*

As an example, I simply created a 'Reverbs' Folder within : 'Plugin database' --> 'Installed' --> 'Effects' --> 'Reverbs', and I simply placed all the Plugins related to that Type ('Reverbs') inside it. With this process, the next time you'll launch your 'FL Studio 12', you'll find your newly created Folders (and their specific contents) within : 'Plugin database' --> 'Installed' --> 'Effects' --> ...your created Folders.
