Starting from an interesting concept we extended it a bit adding several optocouplers and an internal Mid/Side encoding and
    decoding matrix.

Left controls work on stereo and dual modes while right set of controls is useful for the Side component when Mid/Side matrix
    is engaged.

It is great for mastering, thanks to opto behavior combined with the fast VCA compression stage with low ratios available,
and for mixing, on all kinds of sources. Various transformer options range from clean to dirty.

On each channel: an optical compressor followed by a VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) compressor (Discrete). The first one
controls the average signal level with the typical electro-luminescent panel musical behavior. The discrete one controls peaks,
    adding snap or full control.

    Features:
    - Three optical models, based on measurements on several ELP (electro-luminescent panels) and LDR (light dependent resistors)
    - Three transformer models, from clean to quite dirty
    - Mid/Side encoding and decoding matrix. Full control on stereo image with 2 sides processing Mid & Side components separately
    - Several metering options.

Great and versatile for mixing on all kinds of sources, extremely useful and effective for mastering.

SDC is available now for the introductory "real world validation" price of $29.99 MSRP is $39.99

I suppose the background COULD be made of a zero reflectivity or specularity material...

    Carpet, or felt perhaps?

    The rest looks really good!

I wonder if any similarities with the hardware both SKNote & Acustica emulate are just casual as well. :bleh:

SKNote is one of the most underrated and niche developers. I had the opportunity to try and listen to only a couple of his works,
and the GTS39 was just amazing, something special for an ITB compressor. I think their "no demo versions" policy is not paying at all.
People just don't buy plug-ins without trying them, unless he really know the dev, and I know people who buy eye closed any SKNote new product.

This one is giving me a boner. Ok, probably Acustica's take on the shadow hills beast will capture better the mojo, if anything, just for the Nebula technology which is still unrivaled.
But I'm not sure about the compression behavior, SKNote did an unbelievable job on GTS39 compression curve shapes and timing, not to mention the unique character.
Also on their STA-Level emulation is very good, I was told by a great engineer I know who use it a lot. I never tried that one myself though.

Really looking forward to check this out, at this intro price is a steal ! *yes*

I definitely second what you just said mate,
I've purchased all Sknote plugins for osx and never had any deception regard their quality. Can't wait to put my hands on this new one.
Quinto is really cool, you can exchange great talks by email with him about audio stuff. His hardware creations are very interesting too.

I think is trying to emulate the famous Shadow Hill mastering compressor which is also emulated by UAD

At least the gui is similar …

Ah yes!!! The Shadow Hill!!! That's the one. I knew I saw the hardware somewhere but could not remember the name of it.
Can't wait to try it myself too :)
