I recently bought a D16 plugin after testing it in unlimited demo. Since i purchase it, i removed the cracked copy and cleared my registry. (I'm pretty sure it used a patch and generated keyfile).

So after doing all that i installed the legit version and wasn't prompted to authorize in any way. No official keyfile required. It's not a big deal, everything works okay but I'd like to now how i can remove any trace of the patched authorisation so can at least install it properly. I've had similar things with Voxengo and Acon in the past and possibly AudioDamage too. Like i said I'm removing the registry before re-installing, am i missing something?

It's no big deal if not, either way I've bought my license so morally (if not legally) I'm good. Still, would like to know if I'm missing something here.

 

The keys should be in the same folder as the vst plugins.

here are a few other places that keys can go into
as well as your reg,

C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming

C:\ProgramData

C:\Program Files\Common Files
==
or in your plugins folder with the .dll files

C:\Program Files\VstPlugins

C:\Program Files(x86)\VstPlugins

sometimes because you did not install the keys
with the program or you input the ser into the
plugins when you ran them in your daw
they will not be uninstalled when you uninstall the program,

 

If I only have legic copies on my computers ( and i have some) probablly I desinstall all and install the patched ones because its insane people that buy the software need to use dongles or the computer always work to discover if the soft is legít.
Well cracked software is less cpu intensive and stable.

 

Have you also deleted the pirated Key-file? Its usually here:
C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\D16 Group\name-of-D16-app\

I guess you forgot it, dont you? When I delete the Key+ INI file and run the D16 Plugin it has returned to demo mode!

 

Oh Yes thats why we miss our Beloved Team Air! they would crack and make it even better then Devs themselves and of course our R2R is Damn close to the same path, huge improvement with em and everyday there getting stronger and stronger

 

I recommend using AppZap for a Mac and then buy all D-16 Group plugins . . . great bunch of developer!

 

There is no CRACK copy as it has the original installer you simply just have a non legal key but if you want to change the key clean the register and reinstall the plugin i dont even think you need to uninstall it but you may do that just in case you feel like a bad guy..

 

Thats not correct. He doesnt have to clean the registry...He just should delete the key file like I described above. Thats it.

 

There's a C:\... Steinberg VST sub-folder as well - sorry I cannot remember the exact path.
