I downloaded 'Mixing with Compression w/Matthew Weiss'. It was a 5 part download. Ive extracted Part1, but it has given me like 27 other parts to extract, but it keeps extracting the same files? Am I doing something wrong? Ive tried using Unarchiver and WiN RaR. No luck. Help?

has this been double packed? extract the 5 part download, now select the new set of rars and extract again

edit: select all the 5 parts / extract / you should have 1 folder extracted

open folder / select all rars / extract

    use latest winRAR

You can navigate within A RAR/Zip file until you have files splitted in parts.
At this point you really have to extract the part to a temp folder.
Otherwise you end up with errors.
Open the extraCTED part selecting the 1st file, , again you can navigate WHITIN IT until you see a splitted file.

Also , make sure when you extract , that the path & name is not to long.
When the file have a very long name, do not use the file name as destination folder name.
and better extract it at the root of HDD.

What i do with WinRAR is Right Click the click extract to folder and then from their i will do the same process if their are more that need extracting. Dont know if you can do that with the software you use.

Btw: I just select 1 part to extract but make sure all parts are in same folder.

Depending on your folder options you may or may not see the rar archive numbers...
If you can select the last rar and extract

If not then just look for the last rar created by looking at the 'Date Modified' column and extract that...

This should extract your whole archive

Also you like to try Winmount.. this will allow you to extract an archive inside another without extracting the first.
You can also mount ISO's directly from a rar or zip file (although not when double packed, in which case you must first unpack the zip (usually the case) and then you can mount directly from the rar =)

Another tool is Directory Opus (substitute for explorer) which allows you to browse inside rar files without extracting
Note not all unlicensed versions that you might find online work, but depending on your needs it might be worth considering paying for it!

    Hope these tips help ;)

So this is what I have......
These are the 5 Parts I downloaded
    [IMG]

I started to extract Part 1.....I had an error towards the end.

In Part 1 about 27 other parts were included.....

So I extracted Part 1 within Part 1
    [IMG]

But got 3 errors towards the end.

    Managed to extract 2 parts....

But then when I try to extract more, it doesnt extract anything, I only got part 1 and 2...

    Getting pretty annoyed....

change part 5 name, remove (1), you may have downloaded it twice (second one completed), part 5 name should look same to the previous four (apart from the number). there are over 30 rar parts

On a Mac, the best option for extracting RAR files which are version 5 has been an app called Entropy, but another handy tip for extracting multiple nested archives is to use the following terminal command:

    unzip -j \*

    This extracts without creating subfolders

NO, just edit part5 name, remove (1)

part 5 is not being extracted because the rar name is different to parts 1 to 4
