Some companies protect their libraries and some don't bother.

Ah so some obviously go trough NI officially to protect it then... Interesting. Is there a way of knowing who protects etc so I dont have to ask here everytime?

It can be frustrating, especially working with legit NI stuff, to spend a day downloading a library etc to find it is encrypted etc... I too have been in that situation. I have ALL legit NI stuff, and I have been pushing for the sister site to perhaps make some kind of denotation in the releases to state whether or not requires k'd Kontakt etc.... because usually you have to know how the developer has released it etc... it's generally not in the release notes.... So perhaps that should be mentioned... because yeah, you feel like an idiot for asking all the time, but sometimes it's difficult to ascertain whether or not they are protected.. like some Big Fish Audio stuff is, some isn't etc... Some spitfire stuff is, some isn't.... alas...

And does that other site always work like that? release stuff, have people download it, and then WAIT for a pw?! is it some attempt to gauge interest, or something, get donations to site, make money of pay links etc? Seems like a frustrating and odd way to do it. Whenever I venture outside the fold, ( UNLESS it's MSJ), I find their way of handling stuff abhorrent usually....

so all downloaded,... now wait... anyone have any clue as to how long it will take to have PW shown?

thanks gentlemen, (and ladies if they are here!)...

Don't think so - 99% sure that it does NOT work - but not 100%
I don't know why you just don't do what I do and install the keyed version (even tho I own the legit version)

Sisphus also suggested that. But I am just a bit skeptical.. How do they work together? I have k4 and k5 installed on my system.. I am trying to go 100% legit as the money comes in.. Im about 80% right now and this is work machine, so i try not to be too risky with it..

    Are you on windows also?

Friday! Don't want to sound petulant, or like Veruca Salt in willie wonka...."But Daddy, I want it NOW!"...:).... yes, I should just buy it, but this library doesn't seem as obviously useful to me as REV, and want to check it out.....

    thanks for the update MaschineMan!

Sorry to say guys - its appeared on the sister site now without a password - might have been better to wait to get from there anyway - but you live and learn I suppose.

Although, he will probably release his password now that someone else has beat him to the general release.

MaschineMan, your efforts on our behalf are sincerely appreciated.... but that's the best thing about AudioZ.... none of that crap. .. no games, (some bickering and arguing, but all in good fun.. :dunno: :mates: ..... but every time i venture out to anywhere but audioz, (with the sole, sole exception of MSJ), ...it's crap and noise.... and sometimes you think the noise here can get bad!

no shakedown, just the goods, with an intent to shift people in the right direction and help people out.

my audioz slogan: (or wish it would be:))

MORE TOYS, LESS NOISE. (unless you want the noise of course *yes* )

or should it be: MORE TOYS TO BRING THE NOISE...

(if audioz doesn't want it, should go to HEXWARS....:) )
