I heard someone else talk about this on AZ, but i have jdownloader 2 and have no virus so far as i know. Maybe Lenfile is an adware and virus pusher???

Supposedly non-V2 installers have an adware plug in it. But you can get installers that dont. But its not jdownloaders fault, but the 'InstallerCore' companies fault. But not all versions have it. And yada yada. Just remember all those keygens everyone loves come up as viruses as well. So....

What I saw was an upload stated as " "(lenfile) and instead is a 49 byte .txt.exe file (from peeplink.in) and if you don't pay attention you will download it. When I opened it up it was just text saying "virus downloaded by jdownloader". The uploader I expect changed that cause the right file was there when I checked later. I don't think this was an executable if that's all it said..right? Seems OK for me now. The uploader had no comment when I asked how it got there except to say he doesn't use that downloader. To me it seems like someone hacked that in there..or the uploader made a mistake.

the reason for that is, that jdownloader makes it possible to automate the downloads and bypass the ads shown on the lenfile, no ads shown, no money for lenfile, so they try to make the jd2 users unsure about using it, so people will get back and use the page again.

i am using jdownloader now for 6+ years, on JD2 since 2012 and i never had a virus or malware thru it.

just get JD2 from here: http://jdownloader.org/download/offline

and backitup before you install a new windows version, i am still using the install from summer 2012.

Just update JDownloader. I saw it too yesterday. It said something about "downloading a JDownloader virus/JDownloader virus installed" (lol) and it only showed that on some Lenfile downloads. After I closed it off and let it update itself, everything was normal. It also had some issues with Zippyshare some days ago which also went away (downloads wouldn't start and displayed constant 15 min timers). I don't think there is a virus; the downloads were just blocked/couldn't start. But it was strange...

All in all, it is a very shady practice. I've never seen that before. They could ask you to use the webpage, but this? Wow... I'll try to not use it from now on.

Btw, what they're saying there is, pretty much, that their webpages serve viruses. :bleh:

there is nothing going on with JD, when you have the right JD version and not download from some page, because these versions serves malware and viruses.

so get it from the link i posted in my post above, its the official JD page.
