I've start messing about with the idea of creating a sound effects library for Kontakt. So far I've only rounded up a couple old things I did and tossing them in a shell. I'm wondering what SFX people might need or want. I'll try to track down PD or CC samples to fill any requests.

Hi, thanks!! I am personally looking for something that sounds like 'rain' but isn't actual rain! I got something of my own using a vst synth and it sounds like howling winds during a storm. But I am unable to create rain droplet sounds or anything that sounds like regular rain...

If somebody can do it I'd be more than grateful..

Hey Gogli. I'm not a synth guy, though I keep wanting to experiment. I've no idea how to create synth rain, though I can do real rain. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

"if you have access to a synthesizer, a simple patch provides that effect complete:

feed pink noise to the sound mix.
modulate the pink noise with more pink noise. now you have rain or an applause, depending on your filter C and Q
( high Q of a low C, that's your "room")
add reverb to taste."

Last mount I was searching for counter/meter sound. I couldn't find anything good then I took a paper sound (if my memory isn't feinting me) and cut its first second to split 1/32 at the my grid. It was like tatatatata. Still I didn't like it much. So you may do it better. Thanks for asking us.

 

how do i modulate more with the same wave? i missed my synth basics class
