GrooveExtractor transcribes a drum loop recording into five components: bass drum, snare drum, close hihat, open hihat/cymbal and tom-toms.
The transcription result is represented as General MIDI file.

Looks like Studio One Groove quantize also for the blackish colors. FXpansion Geist already does this, but thanks anyway.

 

Yes and Ableton Live has something like this built-in, too. But those products are not free, so I think that's the point here...

 

Yeah free, i tried the last free plugin (the transient plugin), was a real bad plugin. I'm thanful for free stuff but at the same time i don't like having copies of the same plugin, so for those who already own Studio One, Ableton, (other daws) or Geist this plugin could be and an extra copy. i'm just warning of feature already present in your daw but of course you can do whatever you want.

 

I have an impression that Groove extractor works better than Ableton. Besides, it detects more components than Ableton.
