Looks teasing, I´m very happy with the Axiom MKII. The pricing invites for 61 update ... will try it in the shop.
Thanks for posting NAMM `n stuff!

Why don't they add a dozen of fucking potentiometers in order to map a subtractive synthesizer in a decent manner? The price should not raise so much! :snuffy:

Very nice news! Thank you. These are right up my alley cuz I am not a real keyboardist. So, these controllers would be great for me as I don't require a fancy keyboard. But, I do like to mess around with synths and samplers, so these are in my price range. Thanks for the news.

White? It's going to look like shit after a few months of use. :snuffy: Pads on left? :snuffy: Wheels too far away in the upper left? :snuffy: Keybed and build quality probably sucks similar to all M-audio keyboards... I'll pass. :bleh: I've seen too many broken or half-broken M-Audio keyboards. That's why they're cheap.

Novation and Akai still have the best MIDI keyboards around. Superb build quality and a really good feeling keybed, knobs, faders, and buttons.

To the defense of M-Audio and not in a fanboy way, their keyboard DO last! I've been proud owner of their many series and been using an Axiom 61 for about 3 years now. I have many colleagues who are currently using their keyboards. We have no problem whatsoever with them. As any product and brands, it works, last and perform well for some and it doesn't for some others, which you've been an unfortunate victim of. However, I would reiterate that their keyboards last.

Yeah, that part I think that's one thing they don't get right in this design. I always wonder why nobody at these companies see the flaws like the users do!

The Pitch Bend Wheel and the Modulation Wheel placed in the upper left of the keyboard? Um a lot of keys are that way look at the Akai, i don't see any problem at all with that

Yeah placed in the upper left, but not above the drumpads
I can already see people accidentally triggering loud oneshots samples with wrists while trying to do something else with modwheel
Looks nice apart from that design non-sense. Happy with my novation anyway.

Yeah I can't use wheels on left....all my controls on right cause I keep bass going in left hand...I use buttons instead of pedals for sustain so I can use faders + knobs 4 reatime mods.

But the keyboard looks good...there's usually always something uniquely good about every controller.

Wait...that's an XY surface on upper right I think...yeah this thing is loaded

They do 'look' good. But, I do prefer a darker color. The white will get dirty in almost any environment. And, I don't use the wheels that much. But, I would rather them in what has been the standard location for me: exactly to the left of the keys. I'd have to use it to have a lasting impression. Maybe, a trip to the musical grocers is soon in order.

My keyboard crapped out on me, so I ordered a first gen Axiom 49 as a quick replacement. I know I was impulsive. I saw the NAMM video introducing these and even 2nd gen's pretty close in price within 24 hours... But, I'm coming from a KeyRig and want to start using more functions. I'll practice on the oldie and see if I want to upgrade to the Code.

    Thanks for the post!

they look like a toy *no*
...and probably they feel like a toy, like all of theyr keyboards do.

I still have the "big" keystation that I bought as a backup, but honestly, it feels worst than a toy.
I`ll never more buy a product from M-Audio

    get serious M-AUDIO!

Could you name a controller keyboard that doesn't?
And I mean currently manufactured products, so cme ufx etc doesn't count.

Sadly I can`t, and my old Roland A90 is falling to pieces after 20 yrs. of use; so I am on the search too...

The ones that i took in consideration are the Kurzweill PC3K8, the Akai MPK88, but at the end, probably I`ll have tu buy a good DP with a small "toy" controller box separately.

En expensive solution, but at the moment I can`t find nothing better on the market with an affordable price, that fits my needs (Piano feel keys + controller)

The Arturia Keystation comes to mind, also.
But the A90 as well as the Kurzweil are in a different category of products than the M-Audio Code series, so that's a poor comparison.
I have an upright piano with midi functionality and I wouldn't compare it with any controller keyboard on the market since they're all toys compared to it :lmao:

I do not understand why they can`t build a decent controller with piano keys ?!? ... it is not rocket science.

Take as base a decent DP and stuff it with sliders and pots.
The ancient A90 electronics is everything U need for controlling whatever You want, plus add a few more sliders, pads and pots, and You have a dream piano/controller using technology from more than 20 Years ago. :dunno:

Maybe I did not looked in the right place ??? ...someone knows if there is a controller (piano keys) that fits the above description ?

    (sorry for the OT)
