I am running Ableton 9 32 bit and I have noticed that certain waves plugins do not seem to be working.

The waves H COMP and the new DBX compressor and the ssl g buss compressor do not seem to work. The needles never seem to move and i can not get any compression out of them?

Has anybody else experienced this with ableton?

Waves does not support AU anymore on Ableton. Use VST

When did this happen exactly? Is it just with new plugs or the new release? I use the release before last and use the schepps73 EMI12345 in au all the time.....

    Yeah I'm on OSX 10.8.5

The majority of the plugins do work...

Iv found it to be the emulations of the compressor that dont.

    The V-Comp
    SSL G Comp
    H Comp
    DBX??

I will try the VST, going to have to try and re-install though as I only checked the AU section to save space.....

maybe logic automatically wraps vsts and makes them AU compatible

Logic does NOT wrap VST's… it can only use AU's…. unless you are using some third party wrapper….

Waves AU is not supported on Ableton, it's not me saying, it's Waves.
You must use vst version in Live. Check out supported hosts on Waves site.

yeah, at some point I guess they say it isn't supported… I remember having a problem with Ableton 8.34 or whatever, especially remembering saved states, but out of bad habit I still use AU all the time with no problem with Ableton 9.1.7, sure it will cause issues in the future, so I better start making the adjustment…. but I have also not installed the latest release with the new DBX etc….
