Are there any helpful gurus here who could walk us thru Kontakt(R2R)installation?
I'm trying to help a friend install Kontakt on his computer but can't remember the sequence:
Which version first and then what and how... up to the latest (Native Instruments Kontakt 5 v5.4.3 UNLOCKED Update-R2R).
Help please!

I am in no way a "Guru", but install the last 5.3.x full version that You find, and than install the update that You need.
It should work fine I think.

 

If u using R2R there is no last 5.3 full unlocked I don't think as they use the reg tool which u just install the update over i.e no previous installation.

There is a full version of 5.4.3 unlocked available but if u using R2R your best bet would either be to use the reg tool & install the update over the top or download I think 5.2.1 which the last full unlocked version & then install the Update without the need for the reg tool as u will have a previous installation.

All the relevant info needed contained in the .nfo & R2R tex file.

If u just try & install the latest update without a previous installation without using the reg tool it will say cannot continue as no previous installation found.

First install 5.1.0 and then and then install update, there will not be any problem.

Can You please elaborate on this, since I am not using a R2R release, ...but everything looks to be Fine with the 5.4.2 that I have ? ...am I missing something ?

You can install a legit Kontakt player 5.4.3, then download 5.4.3 R2R update, unpack the .exe with winrar , find the Kontakt5.exe and Kontakt5.dll's. Change the names of the cracked dll\exe to Kontakt5C and delete the Kontakt5 stock dll. It will say player, but it surely is full version when you click the NI logo in kontakt.

Btw, does Kontakt 5 v5.4.3 work with older libs like EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold etc?
And if not, what would you suggest guys?

Yes it does but may get registration screen when you first use it.

Old Kompakt versions work fine on Kontakt however some things that were built into the kompakt player will not work & u will need to script these in yourself i'e velocity curves.

Normally it needs to be authorized but not sure how it will work with unlocked kontakt but you can import the patches & even convert patches no problems. However some things will be lost in conversion like I mentioned.

 

Googled it but if that happens, what's the cure- what to do really?
