Hey guys

I've decided to buy Omnisphere, especially for the 2.0 upgrade coming in April, and I'm really happy I did although my wallet is hurting so bad right now. I had a cracked version installed previously that I tried meticulously to remove off my PC before what I thought was a fresh install. But after installing and updating I loaded it up for the first time and it went straight into the plugin without asking me to authorise it. I'm worried I need it to authorise so my user account with Spectrasonics is all good.

Can anyone tell me if this is an important step that needs to happen or can I just leave it? If so, how can I truly remove it so that I fresh install Omnisphere? I'd hate to have complications when 2.0 lands.

you will need to auth 2.0 later so I wouldn't worry too much about in for now.

 

Cool, thanks guys. My serial is on my Spectrasonics account and that seems to be enough. I was just worried that all steps needed to be followed but as long as my serial is registered it's all good.

I don't know much about Omnisphere but I'm guessing if an uninstall didn't clear it up then the crack may be some sort of imported registry key. If that's the case you can probably find out where the key is and delete it.

He said it's a legit install and he's asking if it's important to authorize it.

 

if its legit then it should have come in a physical box. The installation & registration & authorization process is all explained in the documentation, its quite a simple process too.

Basically create account, register omnisphere to your account, download the Disc & Data installers, perform installation, do the response style authorization by copying the key omnisphere opens up with, copy & paste it into spectrasonics website (omnisphere authorisation section) & you will get a real time response key to copy & paste back into omnisphere.

Once thats been done for the first time, the next time installation is required you can skip the first few steps & start at the Disc & Data updater installers then copy & paste response authorisation process & thats it.

The way I understood it (and I didn't reread the OP before posting, so I'm going on memory here) Omnisphere didn't ask him to authorize, so the presumption is that whatever he used to crack it is still lurking in his system.

 

For an update on this topic. It's really really important to go through the authorisation process. As I'm discovering now you cannot update to V2.0 without authorising. Just my rotten luck...

 

Of course because otherwise the old activation system would still work. They're not stupid.
