Hi there
I'm having some issues of running my full Kontakt 5 I have just installed. it doesn't show up as a instrument plug-in in my instrument track in Pro Tools 10 (iMac OS X 10.9.5). Only Kontakt player shows up I've been using for over two years.

do you think I should uninstall the Kontakt player first and then to run Full version of Kontakt 5 ?? and thanks beforehand

Is it possible that you accidentally installed it to the wrong directory?

Maybe uninstall it completely, (Full and Player) and reinstall making sure it goes to the correct path.

Lest start from base then:

* Completely remove (proper uninstall) both Kontakt Player and Full Kontakt 5 >> If You own legit full Kontakt5 You wont need "Player" one as it is budget version of software.
* Pro Tools 10 is 32-bit DAW and it accepts - for Your use -TWO plugin types (RTAS and AAX-32bit) so during Kontakt 5 installation make sure to check in those two ( if Kontakt is legit kontakt5.AAX will appear in instrument tab... if not RTAS will)
* Activate Kontakt via service center and launch Pro Tools 10
* Verify if Kontakt is in instruments list.


-----------------------How to verify if plugin was actually installed correctly--------------------------

Pro Tools 10 adds AAX format plug-ins (in addition RTAS) so you will have 2 folders located here:
Mac
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins (AAX)
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins (RTAS)


Bottom line in one of those folders there should be Kontakt5.dpm (RTAS) or Kontakt5.AAX present (or something very much alike).
If none of them is present there and You are sure You picked those formats during installation they have been installed in wrong folder >>> solution >> run search on "Kontakt5." and if any of desired plugin formats will appear just manually copy entire plugin folder to proper destination.

Plugin present in correct folder >> make sure to restart Pro Tools so it can re-scan folders for changes made.


There are more variables that come in play if we are talking about Legit/Cracked Kontakt... but i hope this will help for now.
