Welcome to the NASA Audio Collection. This collection is administered and maintained by the Houston Audio Control Room, at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The purpose of this collection is to make available the historic audio record of the history of Human Spaceflight at NASA, in an easily accessible and open manner. 3...2...1...We have liftoff!

This is really cool, man. On a much deeper level for me. My dad worked for NASA for 35 years. I grew up with that logo. He passed away in 2011 (my mom died 2 months before him). I miss him, I miss her, I miss them. I am going to write a piece in their tribute using various samples from this awesome collection.
    Thank you so much.

I'm sorry for the sap. I realize this isn't the proper forum for this. It just resonated deeply and flooded me with memories and emotion. I will channel it into my music where it belongs.

  4. Wow, I thought that after over 300 views and no replies that I might have made a mistake upon posting this link to the members of the forum, an inconsequential blip on the radar of the group. But now, theDingus, it feels as if it is the most important content of the year, and no, I do not believe that this is not the proper forum to express oneself, but rather the opposite; as an artist I feel it vital to connect to emotions steep and storming and to be able to channel it into the art that we create. You have nothing to apologize for and I am honoured to have received your gift of thanks.

Yes this is a very cool collection indeed. As a young boy I watched the development of the space program with great interest. I once had the opportunity to visit the Johnson Space Center complex in Houston and sit in Command & Control room where all manned flights have been controlled from the beginning. Thanks superliquid23 for bringing this to our attention!

  6. My pleasure, Slider.
