I tried to see Meldaproduction website several times these last days, but was unable to load its page.
I verified the website state through a specialized site and found it is up, so I wonder what's going on.

Is it another stupid blocking system reading cookies or what is the reason?

After cleaning Google Chrome's cookies I still receive this error: Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Are you able to load this site?

You should block their website if you use their plugs because they call home.

No problem here. Try a different browser, computer, tablet, whatever.

    I'm not from the Uk,
I use a configurable Firewall, so my DAWs cannot connect, but I didn't block their website on my browser.

if you're using adblock or extension like this try to disable it.

connection refused here too, which basically means it's actively blocking my IP (don't expect that, also didn't use their plugs) or (more likely) the webserver is actually down.

I have a feeling that the people saying 'no problem' are using another site or their browser-cache is giving them an outdated version :)

Hmm.. tried it from a different connection and there it's working. Which would mean an IP block for my connection here.. which is nothing short of weird, it's the connection at my office?!

if you used R2R patch i think it blockes the website in your host file try looking in it.

    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

    ==
you can open it with notepad

here is what the defalt one should look like.

    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.

    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

momo: don't do that, otherwise as catalyst say, your plugins will call home.

    Use a configurable blocking firewall/tool.

This screen has just been taken.

I tried with a tablet connected through wifi here (Same IP) and it opens, so 2 possibilities:
They are reading cookies and filtering through this (As some other dev have made in the past)
or its a host file issue.

    ....... minutes later .......

It's a host file issue. I edited mine and now I can see the website.
It's probably part of what R2R solution does.

If you don't use a good firewall, don't edit the host file.
If you use a good one and it's not on automatic behavior, you can edit the host file.
And remember that most of the time, when a plugin tried to connect home, you receive a message from your firewall saying that your DAW is trying to connect to the internet, that's why you should always have your DAW blocked.

Question solved, thanks to all

connection refused means there's no software on the server side to handle your request. There's a problem at their hosting company. Wait & try again.

I knew it. R2R has option of adding them to your host file. I prefer to block them in my router instead since many entries in a host file can slow down access.
