Has anybody tried running an AudioBox1818 or similar device with a touch screen monitor and operating system? Seems it would be worth the extra money in my situation to set that up if I knew it worked well. I run mine on stage while playing drums, sometimes. Would be nice to just reach out and touch the video monitor to move faders and FatChannel adjustments, etc.

Can you expand on this idea? I'm totally interested. Have you replaced your regular screen for a touch screen on your Mac as your main monitor? Is the driver reliable?

On a Mac Mini I have an HP USB portable monitor (I know it's not the same thing) that runs with a generic driver, but some plug-ins have GUI issues. Some of the windows seem to be out of the screen and you can't see their borders.

    Sorry to hijack the topic.

    Best to you all.

I should have been more specific. ----I take it that for my PC, I'll need a newer Windows OS than Windows7? I need a big, bright, touch screen monitor, with good side view, to see in stage lights and work with if I'm a little off to the side. Sometimes on stage I am the Wizard of ...uh.... something. Playing, singing, driving the sound and lights. Anything to streamline my job a little.

ok, so my experience with touch screens is more with Cubase than anything but as far as gui-ergonomy goes you'll need at least 27"ISP running on fullHD or 1920x1200 (not more) I tried with 23 inch fullHD and the GUI was too small to be reliable... Right now i have a Dell P2714t infront of me and I'm really happy with my choice. Its bright FullHD, IPS matrix, 10 multitouch + palmrest and for me the perfect size for a touch-screen. You can choose a different one or size, just make sure that the pixel size is 0.30 or above.. otherwise its too small to use (especially in a live situation)
Also, you can stay on Win7 - it supports multitouch natively

Good idea, but look at the crap that the mouse and keyboard pick up. Do you really want that crap on the screen?
