So does this mean Space and Phat3 are free now? Where's those 64 bit updates? Those two plugins are literally the last two I need a 64bit update for. Oh and Altiverb.. But I wont hold my breath on that one.

the fix would be to go outside the EU like US, pay there taxes and then you can continue.
but maybe they are doing this, i mean now they are based in scotland, but lots of the CA people are from somewhere else and also from outside the EU, for example ugo is from the USA.
so they could reopen as BLABLA Audio in the US and everything is going fine, maybe they will do this, i cant believe they actual worked on Alch 2 that hard and now they discontinued CA.

    agree with Lukie btw.

People its not the VAT! It's 95% a buyout and someone who works with sound design said he was worried at first but then replied later saying its not a big deal. This means to me atleast Alchemy 2 is still set for release under a different company. It's quite and the shop is closed because its likely the buyer enforced a non discretion agreement. Otherwise the nice folks at camel would say something, a reason or explanation etc. Lookout for namm, I bet alchemy 2 will be there in 7 days.

i think Camel audio will be rebranded and set it location outside the EU, to get not the problems with the VAT.
if this will happen i hope they emigrate the other plugins too in the new the company.

If they have indeed been bought out by a currently unknown entity, expect a two hump camel to replace the one humper.

my main concern about the new euro tax is that each government now has a right to go after
the pirates,be it vids ,music ,software that they download,
if that company is registered as is law to sell their products in your country
you can be chared with a crime.

so you could download a plugin for a pirate site
your government logs your ip address and charges you for tax evasion so that you must pay the tax on it,

the moral of the story is look after your stuff
cause you could be passing it onto your grandkids
while taking about the good old days of pirates.

    only time will tell :dunno:
    ====

after a bit of thinking they cant do anyone here for tax evasion
cause after the frist case everyone could just go the blackmarket
and in the end the market would get more money out of this than they do now ,
    worry over

I really doubt it has anything to do with VAT. Everyone in the United States has to pay sales tax. Always have. Nothing new. It hasn't affected them?

The plugin/synth market is VERY diluted and there's a limited, quantifiable market for it. Throw on top the fact that not many people were buying their products, and there you go... company goes out of business.
They were up against Native Instruments, 8Dio, Soundiron, and other music software companies that are constantly adding to their product lineup and Camel Audio was just stagnating on a few of their plugins.
They just couldn't keep up. It takes money to make money and they ran out.

    Just my opinion anyway...

not about paying taxes, its a bout a registration in all EU countries and to fill out on every sale you do how much tax you have to pay, an incredible amount of work if you ask me.

anyway i dont think it has now something to do with the new VAT system, maybe a pay out?
i mean apple wanted to get their hands on CA last year.

look at this - this isnt looking like running out of money?

And of course now people will blame it all on the software piracy. Yea, right... What people don't get is that businesses go down everywhere due to completely different reasons. How about economic crisis? Unsustainable societal structure? Inappropriate business model? :snuffy:

Or simply a buy out. I wonder by who?

    Cheers!

I'm pretty sure piracy played a huge part.. too many deadbeats running studios with pirated software and sample packs. I honestly don't know why anybody bothers developing anymore

Pretty sure, well that's rock solid evidence for me. The last cracked versions of Camel Audio products were released in around 2011 and nothing since. Besides that I personally know of many people that use warez but were paying customers. Customers that just got screwed over I might add. I think it's time to find a new scapegoat.

spectrasonics also wanted to add new stuff to there plugins import waves ect,
omnisphere + alchemy would make a nice plugin if they were taking over by them.
we should find out soon anuff what there up to,

You've got to be kidding me. No faster way to destroy a product than sell them to those idiots. RIP Camel Audio. I'm sure now Alchemy will be Mac only so they can sell more of their shitty computers. Bunch of cunts.
