We would like to thank you for the support we've received over the years in our efforts to create instruments and effects plug-ins and sound libraries.

Camel Audio's plug-ins, Alchemy Mobile IAPs and sound libraries are no longer available for purchase. We will continue to provide downloads of your previous purchases and email support until July 7, 2015. We recommend you download all of your purchases and back them up so that you can continue to use them (Instructions: How to Download and Backup Your Products)

but don't say why they are shutting down though :dunno:

Funny timing with the eu tax changes just coming in, but a few days after when they could have sold up to a 80K limit before being eligible to pay tax on it, I'm wilding speculating I know, but not a lot to go on so far and its all a bit sudden. But that would only explain the timing.ie keep it quiet so they take in the tax free income with minium running cost in least amount of time.

Yesterday GForce website was down due to "maintenance" (not really),
with a message saying they were trying to get their head around this new VAT shit.
I fear this is going to have a great impact on audio software companies, and it killed already at least a company :snuffy:
And then they say it's piracy killing audio software industry *no*

Their accounts weren't too bad, so I doubt they've gone broke, there either moving out of the eu, and basing somewhere else or being sold or the guy that runs it who's apparently not limited to designing synth's has decided he's got a better venture with something else, but you'd think he'd sell if that was the case :dunno: , anyone else with some mad theory's of speculation, they keep removing post's asking if they've been sold on their site according to the kvr forum

They were UK based, so don't really know if that EU tax affected them.

All EU vat registered companys/individuals are now required by the EU to be registered for VAT in any other EU countries if they sell in that country

VAT use to be collected at point of sale, but now thanks to the new EU VAT rules (for digital online sales), VAT is now collected at point of Delivery, so if you are based in uk and VAT registered and you only sell one sale to France then you have to be also registered in France for VAT, and also pay that VAT to France, and also do the same for every other EU country. And every EU country also have different rates for VAT.

Camel Audio are/were based in Scotland, part of the UK, part of the EU, thanks EU for fecking up small business enterprise :snuffy:

SirSillySausage said "thanks EU for fecking up small business enterprise" :snuffy:

Isn't that the truth of it, if your income was less than just over the £80,000 mark you were vat exempt, now you can only keep that if you sell in uk only. There's probably a law that stops you excluding eu sales as discriminatory, so you have to join a scheme that covers you for all EU countries and you lose that exemption, if you don't want to do that, the alternative is to deal with the national tax authorities of 28 countries separately with 78 difference VAT rates. Jeez, any idea's about me starting my own business have just had the plug pulled as it won't just be a gamble, it could be suicidal and those that are already in business get told at the last friggin minute without time to get anything ready, I've brought stuff on-line that I can't get hold of as the changes required to small business computers have mean't in many cases their systems have been affected trying to get things to run properly. Happy new year bureaucrats thanks a bunch

A fixed VAT for all EU would have been a far better choice. There was a need for a clear legislation not a bad one. The result now will probably be a massive drawback. -.-

From what I've read on the web, it seems that there maybe had a buyout IP, we'll see if it the case and by which company ( btw it smells Spectrasonics …)

It sounds like a buyout. It's pretty certain at this point.

It's probably from a DAW. Not any company with any similar products, makes no sense whatsoever.

    Value-added tax

Only has value is to the governments not to the consumers

I blame the people for letting governments extract urine from them.

Governments are like the school bully's, if you don't stand up to them
they will bully you all the way through school

Fuck the Rothschild's and their banks

I think the only way for now would be for many small devs to join together and create a company that act as a
big audio software catalog/store (i.e. Don'tCrack) that sells for everybody,
and big enough (aka many devs involved) to be able to register for selling in all EU countries without
having too much economical hit on the single devs.
but I dunno how this shit works, maybe is not legal.

    Sad times

    Not a bad idea.
Usually, Camels eat apples but why shouldn't it come the other way round

Indeed, Logic could definitely use some fresh air in the synth department

    Apple, are you listening?
