    Hi AS peeps

Wishing you all a very happy and healthy 2015!

2014 was awesome ...aaaaaand crazy! Made lots of music and silly videos with my band, did a bunch of licensing for film/TV in the US, and the best thing that could have happened (ever) was the birth of my daughter ... I never thought I would love being a dad so much.

Before the little bean arrived, I knew I was going to have to give up my studio in Brooklyn. I also knew that I still wanted to work, create music with my friends ..etc.

So my solution was to bring everything in house and scale down ... I ended up with a vocal booth from vocalbooth.com for tracking (even a little mixing in there) ...it's a 6' x 4' booth so plenty of room for two vocalists ... or just one and a small stand for laptop and reference speakers for middle of the night babay-feeding music making ;-)

I don't think I will be going too heavy this year with a rock band but would LOVE to collaborate if anyone is interested.

    All the best,

    Burg

you don't happen to be the same burg on youtube doin the ambient stuff with guitars and volcas? anyway regardless of that, congrats on the baby and if your looking for someone to do a collab I'm always down for fun projects. Although, I must warn you I grew up playing guitar listening to steve vai etc and it shows so if I throw down a guitar track don't be surprised of the unnecessary addition of many notes haha ;P

Congratulation for being a dad. Be prepared with an ocean of patience.

Beautiful place you have for making music.
The vocal booth is for two like an umbrella is, if you're in love there's no problem.

What is there at your desk that seems a mixing desk?

How do you feel with the Munroe Eggs?
What amp do you use with them?

Congrats, dad! I have two small girls here myself so I know the feel.

Now, that's one fucking expensive vocal booth. I'm glad I'm a handy DIY guy. ;)

  15. Congratulations on being a Dad. There's nothing like the feeling of that first sight and touch of your new baby, nothing I can compare it to. Enjoy and cherish each and every moment.

    Thx.

I've had the 150's for about 1 1/2 yrs and I can honestly say for what they are, I love them. It gives me a very full stereo image and the bass response is perfect for my ears. I'll be mixing on them for years and years.

I'll try to take some more photos asap ...as soon as I can put the baby down without her getting fussy! ;-)

haha .. I know ...the company is called Vocalbooth.com so I guess they can get away with a logo like that.

I'm pretty open musically and have done a bit of everything, but I would say I naturally gravitate towards guitar based music, Rock, Americana, indie ...but I love electronic music as well and love going for unusual sounds ... hybrid styles ...etc. Straight ahead genres are also fun for me.

tjgoa ... I get around a bit (genre wise) ...but usually don't play Jazz unless I need to fake it for a job (even then I would hire keyboardist ;0)

I'll take a month or two to lay down some new ideas and maybe float them around here to see if anyone is interested.

    Thx!

It's true Baxter ... way overpriced when you think about what it takes to make one yourself. I was just in a place where the baby clock was ticking and we were moving into a new apartment ... too much going on ... so I thought "better spend the money now, before I am never allowed to spend money on gear again! I should be able to make it back doing small jobs over time. that's the hope at least.
