    hey,

I've gone through some prerecorded DJ Sets and Radio Shows, the loudness level of all songs is almost same.

How that can be achieved, do they used a limiter in the master channel or just by using volume faders?

Probably but most tracks on the set are commercially released and so I assume professionally mastered, which means they will all have the same level of loudness for clubs.

So even if the DJ doesn't have a limiter on, I'm pretty sure levels would be overall the same.

Perhaps they lower the louder tracks in volume (to create equal loudness overall), instead of smashing a brickwall limiter on the master.
After all, all the tracks have already been mastered.

sorry i just had reread the original post a few times...did the OP actually ask how when DJing, the DJ keeps the track volumes consistent!!!

the stupidity is quite frightening really...

What does he think the volume faders do?

    :dunno:

The volume faders are usually all the way up as you don't gain stage with the volume faders.

Please re-read the Original Post, i'm taking about the prerecorded sets not the live sets.
Eg. Record a set for radio show with one avicii track, then W&W, then kaskade, then W&W, then guetta, then Hardwell then so on.
Then just experience the loudness see-saw.

BTW thanks for your reply & answer.

    Happy new year buddy.

Like water off a ducks back, fair play Gompo.

I know when I DJ`ed, many moons ago, it was mostly a case of matching volumes in the mix. For example, when mixing a 12" with a track off an album (talking bout that black plastic stuff here, vinyl!) you would get an idea of the volume difference through the cue mix on your headphones and compensate with the channel faders. That was how I did it anyhoo. :grooves:

    So, another problem...
In normalized files you should choose the one with more loundness to be The maximum standard, só every other file just be with less or equal loundness.
Of couse if you edited a million flies and find one with more loudness, then use a expander with limiter right?
Only useful for performances because its insane to edit all the filés with same loundness... *yes*
