workspaces can be saved both global and on project levels too, so practically u gonna create a rack and rackless view for me it's alt+5/6

yes(yes, so has dedicated volume knob), yes this is the so called offline processing:

    Vari Audio :dunno: ,

Stock Eq has been replaced with a Channel Strip which can be put before or after the inserts, EQ can be put into any position of it

yep, this is the MIDI loop format

automation curve, no only the reduction level of the curve drawing tool points number can be changed

freezing: render in place and disabling tracks (unload the track related instruments, free up CPU and RAM) been added to C8 so both ways are supported

Oh, uh... i knew that. lol.

Nah but I found Cubase unnecessarily complicated, but I think it was actually the first DAW I used after running Adobe Audition for something like 10 years, so I guess that probably contributed to my opinion. Maybe I'll have to take another look at it soon.

than don't get it :dunno: , anyway the new "render in place" can be used in four ways
    [IMG]
u can render the source material

dry : channel setting(inserts etc.) been transferred to the bounce/render track
channel : the channel settings also been included into the bounce/render track
complete signal path : channel + group + send fx also been included in the bounce/render track
and fully: complete + master fx also been included in the bounce/render track

so if the reverb is put to an fx (send) track or to a group track, it can be still used(remain tweak-able) choosing one of the first two methods, other way is creating a track preset with the reverb which can be dropped to the newly created bounced track

thanks for your answer again

i'm not sure if i have understood from the videos, so "render" act like this??

I decided i'll wait for Studio One V3 and see what is offers, my second choice will be Logic Pro X and third Cubase 8 (because of iLok stuff and shit like that)

  7. got mine "edu" version a couple of weeks ago... nice GUI but awful offline workflow, they are followin the route of Presonus; too much online stuff, IMO...

yepp this is the offline processing, it's pre-rendered: so offline (don't have restore), event based, doesn't use CPU power during the playback and independent from the inserts

Hi Cubase 8 is amazing, as for people saying it has bugs that is not the case for me. It is rock solid and a massive improvement on 7, render in place and vca faders speed up my workflow loads.

Steinberg are defiantly stepping up their game and i would recommend anyone to upgrade, i have used cubase for 20 years, i have also used logic, pro tools and ableton but i always come back to cubase as for me it is much more logical unlike logic despite its name. :)

So it gets a big thumbs up from me.

very nice version with quite a few new bells and whistles. one major showstopper for me and others is faulty MCU/HUI surface controller handling. anything above 8 faders does not work properly. was hoping it would be addressed in the 8.0.5 update but not yet. fortunately v7.5.30 surface controller functions still work perfectly. as can expected with any new version of software as complex as cubase there are a few minor cosmetic bugs of course but encountering OLD bugs that were addressed in the previous version was a bit of a surprise. overall though its a great upgrade with very useful new features well worth the price. kudos to steinberg.

hmm.. i'm kinda tempted by Cubase 8 lately because there is still no Studio One v3 and i'm missing some features, one of them is the fucking MIDI EVENTS LIST (i can't fucking believe presonus did not put it in current version of S1 .. and that's pretty much fucking retarded!, but also many mroe) , the problem is to upgrade my legit cubase v5 to v8 it is 299eur and thats kindalot for me. (because for that price i could get about 32gb of ram DDR3 for my pc or party really hard ...)

FUCK YOU GREEDY ASS STEINBERG TRASH FOR NOT EVEN OFFERING A TRIAL VERSION OF THE v8!

no way ever i spend 300eur straight on that shit without trying it before, and i'm not selling my soul to youtube videos propaganda bullshit about 'how good cubase 8 is at this and at that.. etc" beacuse i know the day i will install it and fire up a new song project; i will fucking start cursing and hating it within minutes after finding one retarded feature after another to realize how much it is retarded to do one or another thing because of the 'steinberg way'.

my fear is after i spend 300eur on it is to be fucking disappointed in Cubase 8 and there is no way to fucking get a refund and the what does scare me out the most is that i got soo much used to the S1's 'instruments & effects' explorer side bar and the type to find search feature that i absolutely don't see myself using the fucktarded context-sub-context-another-sub-context menu with right mouse button click hold navigation bullshit menu in order to find and reach one or another retarded plugin or a vsti !!! i simply can't believe for such an 'advanced' DAW software of 2014/15 the retarded steinshit didn't think of implementing a SIMILAR vst & vsti sidebar navigation & search feature as Studio One has !!

i don't believe in steinberg and don't trust that company at all, after everything i have experienced during my cubase years from v4.0 to 5.5 (that pure steinberg lameness and gayshit in all kind of ways)

here is how you fucking losing another potential customer, so FUCK YOU STEINBERG.
