Does anyone have good free VSTito recommend to play the guitar on the computer, but I'm only looking for clean amp models

I already know/have all the stuff like lepou aradaz/kuassa and the likes but they are for crunch/heavy tones...like most free amp sim out there actually
I was wondering whether there were any JC-120, fender deluxe/twin etc ...free amp models that have been made? I couldnt find any decent one

    thanks for your input/help

I like Peavey Revalver best for clean tones, for Jazz and Blues. It's not exactly free, but, well, you know the deal

I think it depends on your taste...

You probably know all the names out there : IK Multimedia Amplitube (There's a Fender edition btw, with Deluxe, Twin, Bassman, Champion and more), Native Instruments Guitar Rig, Overloud TH2, Line 6 POD Farm etc... Peavey Revalver too of course.

Of course they're not free but you can find them on Audioz. There's few not too bad freeware like Ignite Amps, Studio Devil etc... But all the names above are more powerful. And most of them are affordable if you use them a lot.

I tried all of those ones, and the best sounds I found is on my POD HD 500, and when I'll can I'll buy an Eleven Rack, now I find it even better than POD HD.

But with simulations only regarding my taste, Amplitube is best for amps, and Guitar Rig for FX. With Amplitube you can set a stereo sound with two amps left/right, not sure with Guitar Rig.

    Good luck ;)

thanks for the answers, I already have a pod HD500, th2, softube amproom, metal room, revalver, kuassa creme and regular (forgot the name), guitar rig, amplitube and so forth....

I'm looking for FREE vstis ...so I'm sorry to say that as I appreciate your willingness to help but apart from Nightwalker it seems no one can read!

why am I looking for free stuff since I have them all already you might wonder...well just because for distorted sound, I actually found that TSE sovtek/sveltana (free vsti) + recabinet is just frigging awesome combination that suits my taste perfectly! and plug and play to top it all!...so I'd like to try some free ones for clean sound too..but it seems there is nothing out there..well I couldnt find anything....so I thought some guys might know better

I'll try this anvil plug in out

IMO this is a good clean sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq7-fQgsKHM

The pickups are the element that most influence the sound *yes*

youtube is banned in china so no video over here :snuffy:

I tried the anvil and the clean channel is indeed not bad at all (dont like the two other channels though)
so far I found lextac from lepou is also quite useable...i'm just surprised that no one has tried to make a JC120 or a fender model yet....

"but it seems there is nothing out there.."

No there's not so many things, that's why we didn't talked too much about freeware !

So yes, we can read, but that sounds weird to search ABSOLUTELY for freewares if you already got good hardware and know all good softwares...

first you dont need any crappy apple computer to have GRT it's been part of the wave package for a while and it works fine with windows (yes the cracked version for windows is 7 and not 8 but that doesnt change anything for GTR)...then I wrote just a post above yours that I already have it!! it's not free...and doesnt sound that good anyway *no*

Since you seem to have "all" the cracked guitar emulations available I am not sure why you insist on a freeware...
Anyway.. here.. hxxp://www.ikmultimedia.com/amplitubefree/download/ you'll find the FREE version of Amplitube.
I don't know what's inside but almost certainly there will be some Fender amps. These, as you know if you tried them, have some of the best clean sounds around.

Here is some PC VST FREEWARE

    http://www.simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm

    What is SimulAnalog Guitar suite?

It is a suite of vst plugin with amplifiers and analog processors for guitarists, actually containing the simulation* of:

    - Boss DS-1 (Distortion stompbox)
    - Boss SD-1 (Super Overdrive stompbox)
    - Tube Screamer (Overdrive stompbox)
    - Oberheim PS-1 (Phaser stompbox)
    - Univox Univibe (Modulations stompbox)
    - Fender Twin 1969 (Guitar amplifier)
    - Marshall JCM900 Dual Reverb (Guitar amplifier)

    Why SimulAnalog Guitar Suite?
This suite is not a commercial product. It is born inside an academic research project about the modelling of electric devices, and then applied to the musical instrument field as an evolution of the techniques currently available in some commercial units. Its most important feature is the extremely high precision of the simulation, which is about indistinguishable from the original sound.

Many commercial amp simulators claim state of the art modelling techniques inside the product and say things like "every component in the audio path of the original instrument has been accurately modelled". But sentences like this are more like advertising and are not supported by technical papers describing what really happens in the product. Besides, many of the processors have to run all the simulation algorithms on a low cost DSP to keep as low as possible the cost of the hardware. That's why the models they use should be as simple as possible, but... not so close to the real gears they want to emulate.
But of course in the advertisement they have to claim incredible thecnological prodigies to stay competitive with the other products.

What about SimulAnalog Guitar Suite? It is a freeware and no profit set of plugin. Born as a test bench for SimulAnalog research, we saw that without any effort it could be distributed to musicians that may find it useful. That's why it is given as is, with no support and with a very rough user interface.
But we can assure that "every component in the audio path of the original instrument has been modelled, except for the secondary effects of some active devices" and that "the response of each original device have been compared with the respective simulated response, obtaining less than -40dB of difference" without any particular commercial interest saying that.

To me it seems that you are a bad tweaker as you got all the tools to get an awesome clean sound already.

If you not satisfy with you have you might have to buy a REAL AMP and leave the vst territory and even then you might not be satisfied.

I can tell you a little story

I was about to do a cover of Gary Moore:s classic tune Parisienne Walkway and i tried all my gears i had at that time to get the tone i wanted.

This was in 2001 i believe

I had an modified Marshall JCM 800 with matching 4X12 cab and a Laney VR100 with matching 4X12 cab and a very cheap zoom multieffect pedal.

I try to tweak the Marshall and the Laney but for some reason i could not get the sound i was looking for.

    I tried everything.

Then one morning i tried just the Zoom pedal (which i used to connect to my soundcard so i could practise at a very low volume.)

I tweaked the Zoom for over two hours or so then i got exactly the sound i wanted.

I recorded the guitar parts and was very happy with the result BUT i forgot to SAVE the presets so i could never get that tone again.

I eventually swap the zoom for more expensive gear

I have tried to mimic that sound from time to time with my existing gear a POD XT and with all VST:s and with my amps etc.

BUT i think it was the long TIME i spend with the Zoom and the fine tweaking of every parameter i did that was the SECRET not the Zoom itself.

BUT i havent spend so much time on the POD XT or a VST or a REAL AMP as i did with the Zoom.

Maybe i will now that i mention it

So if you have the tools wich YOU HAVE.

I´m pretty sure you could get the tone you want if you spend some time to tweak the parameters.

And i bet that Hiland would NEVER use a waves GTR.
He would use a REAL TUBE AMP not a VST.

The GTR commersial is only to make money "Like Kirk Hammets signature strat with single coils??When did Hammet ever played a single coil strat?"

Or AC/DC :s Amplitube commersial AC/DC NEVER plays anything that is NOT a vintage REAL TUBE AMP thats for sure.

man you assume way too much...as an amp I have a diezel herbert, it's pretty good but rather loud... I've had tons of gear over the years and still have quite a few things..besides I'm a pretty good tweaker and I do get the tone I want...I asked that question out of sheer curiosity , just because wanted to see what clean amps were available as free VSTi. as I mentionned, I have been very surprised by some free distorted amp models and I know some guys here are playing the guitar so I thought they could point to the right direction and spare me the trouble of searching and trying different plug ins ...but considering the number of answers I got here REALLY answering my question (2!)...when it comes to clean tones...it seems you just get sweet FA from the free department...i'm actually quite surprised, as I thought there would be some chaps who would have tried to make a Fender or and Roland JC...I guess I was wrong. Nevermind. :grooves:

Sorry i thought you was looking for some special sound as you kept saying i want a free vst all the time when people suggested Revalver Amplitub Softube VH1 etc.

And as you say there is a bunch of good free vst:s but i would rather go for an amp moddeling unit like your pod for exampel.

I tried the ignite amp today but i didn´t like it.
It seems nobody make a really good free clean amp sim.

But you could look in the KVR database there you maybe can find something as they keep database of many old forgotten ones aswell.

I also tried the simulanalog fender twin today and it was ok if you run it with a convolution cab plugin

    Good Luck
