    Hi,guys.
I wonder what is going wrong in cubase 5.
As you see in the photo, there are 48 instances of the ''standard panner '' which is an effect that appears in my projects.
In other projects it appears to be more than a hundered times and thats why the cubase performance is not good.
Does this happen in your cubase also?
What would you suggest to do?Thanx in advance.

Hmm looks like sloppy programming by Steinberg. The pan knob is actually a VST plugin built into the GUI.

Might be time to get a DAW from this decade.

most if not all of Cubases FX and instruments are in the vst format, after all that is why they invented it.

If you add a track/group/FXchannel, you get instances of "standard panning". Don't worry about it. :)

Right click on the panning window to get more panning options (balance, dual mono, combined).

Cubase 5 will do just fine. You don't always have to have the latest DAW (even though the manufacturers thinks otherwise and try their best to convince you).

If you look at the third tab to the right in your picture you will see a tab called file and there you see cubase.exe after the 48 Standard Panner a.k.a it is NOT saying vst or vst 3 like all other in that tab
If you compare that with the single instance of the vst3 version of Maximazer you have the answer to your question

In other words nothing is wrong with cubase 5

I don't understand, what does the maximizer have to do with 48 instances of a panner.

    Also for you Mykal,The-RoBot,nOxon,Baxter,
take a look at the attached photo of another cubase project with no other fx in it and without any touch to the pan knobs of the 2 mono audio tracks..
Again the ''panner'' instances are 48,although I count only 20 in the photo. This ''standard panner '' is in the file called ''Cubase5.exe'' as you see in the 1st photo.(the exe we all use to start the program.Right?
Does this mean that is inside the .exe, that is why I cannot de-energize it by unchecking it???

It is an integral part of the program.

With so many instances? which are multiplied when you add tracks and fx in the song?
    Very strange behaviour.
Does this happen in your cubase also?Have a look and tell me please.

  14. this could sound stupid but... how many instances are you working on?

    I don't use Cubase anymore.
Obviously, every channel has one panner for the stereo bus plus one for each send. Is it really that strange?

    Like, yeah.
Drink an energy drink and relax about it all.

(I have 891 standard panners in my current project)

Don't blame the panners if you have a crappy processor and/or CPU-hungry plugins (advanced synthesis, reverbs, etc). Freeze or bounce the tracks/plugins that are draining your CPU.

You asked if something was wrong with Cubase and since the vendor for maximizer is vst3 and the vendor for Panner is cubase.exe you should now understand that it is cubase exe that is the vendor and that is why you have 48 panner and sometimes even more.
Cubase.exe has some vst intigrated i.e the panner it will always be there and it doesnt take up any more cpu cycles then what is already used for Cubase

Look at Baxters post above 891 panner it is something else that is taking up cpu maybe time for an PC upgrade or bounce tracks or freeze them
