I wrote the melody and lyrics to this demo a long time ago-real studio- not much digital stuff yet- and my vocals and the mix are old demo quality, this may be a copy of a cassette. Can't remember. (session may be on a roll of 2" Ampex tape in my closet) Co-wrote the music with the guitar and bass player. I wish to whatever powers that be that it were no longer relevant---peace be upon us all. Best I could do at the time. :( http://www.reverbnation.com/allenleegeddes/song/7226846-i-care

It's a good track, I don't understand why you hate it so much. I liked it.

Thanks Catalyst. I wrote during it during the Tiananmen Square thing and recorded it right after. I guess after 25 years my standards and skills have risen, and the kind of pain and yearning I'm trying to describe still endures.

We have a tendency to be hard on ourselves as our skills grow but we should look back and look at it as a rite of passage. Back then we had good ideas but we didn't yet know how to properly and cohesively express them. Now you have the production skills to do so but you couldn't have gotten where you are today without travelling those roads. It's like that Nietzsche quote:

The session was recorded and mixed all in the same night ----24 track Studer, MCI automated console. If I remember right, you had to save one or two tracks to record the board automation info onto. We thought that was a pretty big deal, being able to save your mix and build onto it a little at a time.
