GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) and several other DAW are showing Unexpected behavior with Audio Units plug-ins in Mac OS Yosemite.

GarageBand for Mac is a 64-bit application and works with 64-bit Audio Units plug-ins. 32-bit Audio Units plug-ins are not compatible. Checking with the developers of the 32 bit AU plugs gets you no where because most of them just say it is what it is especially the plugs that are free and there are some excellent and simple to use free plugs. Many developers simply say that updates are in process.

Is there an application that can convert 32 bit AU plugs to 64 bit AU plugs ???

yeah, a friend of mine who is in a pretty large band (who will remain nameless to protect the idiocy), came to me because nothing was working well on his system. turned out the genius installed Yosemite BETA(!) and was trying to use that on tour.. wtf... (and this was months ago)...

If you can roll back to Mountain Lion, do that. Mavericks 10.9.4.... But I would expect LITTLE to move smoothly on Yosemite, or at least I see no reason or upside to using it....

I have no problems what so ever with Yosemite. Everything just works. Some driver issues in the beginning but that's all sorted out now.
If you really need to revert your OS back, then choose for Mountain lion. So you can make your DAW run in 32bit. Mavericks won't change a thing, Like Yosemite it's 64bit only.
Forget everything I just said, because:
32lives is the way to go when you want to convert your 32bit plugins into 64bit.
Send me a PM and I'll send you the link where to get it.

Well, you are lucky not having any problems what so ever with Yosemite.

One of my problems was installing Cubase products and there is still one that i can not install.

Found/installed "32 Lives" and it only listed 2 AU plugs which is nuts because Digital Performer and several other DAW's will not pass some of my AU plugs.

On simple programmes Yosemite works but on high end audio/video/midi programmes they barely work.

So, as i said you are lucky not having any problems what so ever with Yo.
