    hi guys,

i was just thinking how this drop sound can be achieved,
actually i'm not talking about the synths.

I'm just talking about the way the synths sounds, wider or something like that.
    how can i achieve that??

    drop starts at 1:08

Is all about details. Alesso is a genius at sound design so he create leads and bass that they don't take to much space and they work good togheter. After this you can get a clean mix. For widening i think he is using reberbs, delays, and imagers. And imager again also on delays/reverbs so he can achive a wide stereo field.

the track sound wide also because if you mute the mid you hear only leads, small drums and a little bit of bass and don't forget that louder track will sound also wider.

Right... I think i understand what you mean...
If i'm right he used a sample delay on right side to make it more stereo, low cut obviously, maybe a stereo enhancer on highs, a good subbass that makes the synth sits on high on the spatial position and a carefull reverb and delay settings... It with a high cut on 16 or 17 Khz on mastering stage to add headroom and help the synths to sounds more 3d...

If i'm wrong feel free to notice and correct me! *yes*

Ps. Sorry about my english, I'm brazilian...

i've read an interview in wich Alesso said that he works on single channels, so i thinks that in the mastering stage the track will only get compressed and worked on eq just to get a clear picture on every small/big system.

    but check it out

Layer synths and add some reverb. Add some 6dB/oct lowpass filter on it all. Turn down the volume. On the drop bypass the lowpass filter and turn the volume up a bit.

Width/spatialness is usually more noticable from 3kHz and up. You can add some subtle chorus and highpass the (stereo) chorus.

Good tipps from Baxter - I agree with them :)
Also try using different reverbs and types of reverbs, add effects to them put a delay behind them, some distortion, harmonizers and so. It is really about trying. It could make a big difference, but don`t overdo it, otherwise the whole mix can get blurry. And as Baxter said, mainly concentrate on the mids and highs and leave the bottom to the kick and bass.

To follow up on my post - I think I hear three synths/sounds layered (maybe there are more). If they all have different spatialness and width (stacked and detuned, panned, delay, reverb, chorus, etc), and you also pan them differently (the dry), your summed sound will be wider. Then it's just a matter of lowpass and volume automation to get the "drop".

    1) piano (or piano-ish attack/transient)
    2) strings
    3) supersaw
    4) supersaw and octave above

They all have some different amp ADSR to complement each other. It even sounds like the string has some sort of glissando/pitch-bend.

    etc
