http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Glass_Ensemble and from photos of that time frame with his ensemble, looks like they were using Arp and Moog. You know, old style with a patch bay. lol. http://www.philipglass.com/gallery.php#with7---- Ha ha, saw that film in the eighties when it 1st came out. Took a hand full of psilocybin mushrooms before I watched it....might have overloaded a circuit or two on that trip. ---I do not condone that sort of behavior....leaves more for me.

I think that he used mainly electronic organs like Farfisa or Yamaha etc. but your link points at a rerecorded version with an orchestra..

I don't know, I should google it! I have read about a Farfisa organ... Terry Riley used a Yamaha organ bought in Rome...!
If you like wall of organ sounds search for Music in Twelve parts by Philip Glass, the 70's recording for Caroline /Virgin records... very psychedelic and dangerous indeed!

Ok in this link there is a consistent discography of P. G. with the photo of the original album. You can see that Michael Riesman plays keyboards (unspecified). At 0:30 there is a stack of many instruments.. In my opinion there is also an organ sound but in the 83' the prophet V was already common so who knows! However for me IT'S an organ (farfisa/yamaha)- especially on Prophecies. Spend some hours on google and maybe you'll find the solution!

some of the photos on his website link show them with different keyboards, but the photos are not dated. The original soundtrack has his whole ensemble listed as musicians. The original recorded release did not have all the soundtrack on it. Glass re-released another version later with some additions and re-recordings. According to Wiki....

I met Philip Glass at a photographic exhibition in NYC. Then I let him take a shit in my mouth, but only in exchange for hints/tips etc. on mixing tracks in Fruity Loops.

He told me he uses mostly Reason.

Can you quote a specific part of the OST to help you out ? The sounds you are interested in, does it concern basses ? Leads ?

Well the arpeggio part is a mix of synth, saxophone, and flutes. Hard to tell what synth. That's whats nice with Glass, is that he blends real instruments and synths well.
One of the synth sounds seems to use an Organ sound. Though i know a real organ was also recorded for this album... Hard to tell on this one.
