    Hi Folks,

I don't know how to play a guitar but i always like its sound and always want to play it,
so i want to play it virtually in a daw(FL).

I don't know much about it, i have just downloaded various vst's and kontakt libraries for various Guitars.

Please help me in writing the MIDI file for it,any specific rules or any thing?
Any video or thing would be helpful. *yes*

look up chords / scales / guitar tunings

they can all be replicated on a midi keyboard

then you also need to look at guitar FX, you know where to get those from

    @ Gompo,

In my opinion, one of the best method for you will be to find some 'Chord Diagrams'. *yes*

If you still don't know how these are looking, here you have numerous examples :

    'Chord Diagrams'

From here, you can have a look at each desired Notes/Chords to be played with your MIDI/VSTi Guitar Emulation Plugins.

Here you have some articles interesting for you *yes* :

'Note Names, MIDI Numbers and Frequencies'

    'What is a Tab ?'

Good Luck in your experiments !!!

    @ Pro Tools 10,

    !?! :dunno:

Sorry, but I don't really understand your Comment... I mean, why don't play (record) 'Full Chords' thanks to a 'MIDI Keyboard/Piano Roll Editor', as the main goal of 'Gompo' is certainly to make his several VSTi/Kontakt Libraries to sound like a 'Real Guitar' !!! *yes*
Of course, this doesn't avoid to also use a 'MIDI Keyboard/Piano Roll Editor' for playing/recording Solos, Arpeggios, Staccato or Legato Notes,... *yes*

    @ Gompo,

By the way, it exists some 'VSTi Guitar Emulations' Plugins that contains a 'Strum' (or 'Strummer') Function (with often several Patterns/Rhythms/Styles), which can greatly help you to play/record the result in 'MIDI Notes/Data'. *yes*

Some of these even give you the opportunity to play ONLY a Note (the 'Root') with your 'MIDI Keyboard', and permits you to get/play a 'Full Chord' without the hassle to complicate you with the fact to play a 'Full Chord' as is...

    As an example :

You press/play the 'A' Note on a 'MIDI Keyboard' (or the equivalent 'VSTi Virtual Keyboard' provided), and you can get :

    'Am', 'Am7', 'Am9', 'Asus4',...

For this, simply check the possibilities provided within your usual 'VSTi Guitar Emulations' Plugins. *yes*

If you would rather use your 'Kontakt' Guitar Libraries, you can find some 'Scripts' ('Kontakt Scripts', of course !) that can also permit you to get the same kind of results.

Probably the wrong answer, but I would suggest that you learn to play the guitar if you like it so much.

A guitar is a percussive instrument, and his highly responsive to an individuals playing style. The same guitar will sound different depending on who plays it.

I have played guitar for over 40 years and this is the first time i read that guitar is a percussive instrument..
Shure it can be used as a percussive instrument but it is so much more than that.
I think the right term is stringed instrument
If your statement is true then ALL stringed instrument a.k.a Cello Banjo Violin Ukulele Citar etc etc is percussive instruments as those also are very responsive to individual playing style
