Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.)---again. Somebody has offered me an Ampeg E810 cabinet and a head at a price too good to be true. Don't need it, can't afford it, but gotta have it anyway. Not the Heritage model, but I have a tube pre-amp I can insert. I like to record bass guitar direct on one track and mic an amp at the same time to another track. It will also probably make a great sub-woofer. Or I can put an engine in it and drive it around town, or get an original tube head and use it to heat my home. Even at low volume, if you play bass guitar, there is just something about moving all that air with 8--count 'em--ten inch speakers. Reaches right down where your bowels and solar plexus can feel it. About a 6.8 on the Richter Scale, if you want.

Congratulations! Hell, who cares if you don't need it. If you can afford the killer price. GRAB IT!

I often buy gear thinking this, but then decide the cats and I can go hungry, or I'll live under a bridge for a while, before I want to let go of it. The cheapest one I saw on ebay was a beat up one that went for several hundred US more than what this guy is asking. Going to need a winch to get it to my 2nd floor apt/flat. lol

  5. This one will probably do the trick!

now that's a winch! Will just move the whole house to the speaker cab, instead.

    Great cab!
I use an AKG d112 on my E810 (because it sucks as a kick drum mic).

And you can always sleep in the cab till you can afford an apartment again. Go for it. As stated before, you can sell it later. Patience brings in the high bidder.

I like those old AKG's. Use them about anywhere I would an SM57. I have a Sennheiser e902 that is amazing on bass drums and bass cabinets.

also saw a guy play live: Hammond B3 organ, but instead of using the bass foot pedals, he put a Moog Phatty on top and ran that through an SVT, and played all the bass parts for the band. It sounded really cool. Somebody offers me a deal on a Leslie cab, and I'll have to have that too.
