So, i've recently watched the Deniz koyu in the studio session, and felt in love with omnisphere again. He's using a lot of presets in this remix, most of the sounds coming from the library 1.5.5 update.

I'm trying to install this but i'm having tons of trouble, well not many, just one.


This is the error window.

Fact: I installed the whole omnisphere on an external HD, i have it connected during update installation but the installation won't let me choose the external HD. ''It's supposed to be installed on the HD running the OSX''. I don't really know if this is any trouble whatsoever.

Can anyone help me?

 

Omnisphere updates are incremental. You need to install earlier updates before installing the 1.5.5.

I have my library on an external disk also. The main thing to watch out for is the correct location of the STEAM folder. You can put it on the external drive, but make sure it is aliased and placed here:
users/yourhomefolder/Application Support/Spectrasonics/Steam/Omnisphere/Soundsources/Factory

 

In addition to what aussie said above, you'll also want to make sure you've updated the actual software version as well. The only other thing I might suggest is to try running BatChmod on the 1.5.5 Library Update .pkg file to make sure you've got the right permissions.

 

I think if you repair permissions of your installer it will work....

i finished the installation process of Omnisphere yesterday ( a nightmare !! ) but i've learned that if an installer doesn't work, you can change permission or you can install manually by dragging the "new" STEAM folder content into the old STEAM folder. if nothing works than you should find another installer. I think that is Maveriks that create such problem for omnisphere to be installed.

 

before you install the Patch-Libaray update 1.55 make sure you`ve installed Patch-Library 1.50

and yes as far as i can speak installing Omnisphere on a Mac (Mavericks) is a real Pain

i think in a couple of Days i will open up a Thread where all this will be solved just need to collect more Information

as i dont use a Mac

 

I tried repairing permissions using BatchMod, still the same error. I don't think i need to install the previous patch library, it's only asking for version 1.5.0 of the software, which i have (1.5.6d).

I could install the previous 1.5.0 patch library but i can't find it anywhere on the internet haha, i don't really know what else to do.

Oh and i got an aliased folder in my HD, so i guess that's not the problem either.

 

To understand Omnisphere

you have to know that there is a Software update 1.58d the latest
a Soundsoucre update 1.02 the latest
a Patch LIbrary Update 1.50 was the big one you need that one to install all later released updates like 1.55

if you google about Omnisphere and Mavericks you will find that the software update 1.58d works

then i found this hint :

"Please note that the "Libraries" folder is hidden by default. You will need to un-hide it in order to access it. To do this, click on your User Name in the Finder window. Next, click the "gear" icon (shortcut: Command+J) and in the drop-down menu, select "Show View Options". A new window will pop up with several tick-boxes. At the bottom, check the "Show Library Folder".

you have to point the Omnisphere Update installer for Soundsource and Patches-Library there
the main folder where all the magic happens is called "Steam"
the software updates are going into your Vsti folder on your Drive

i think this should sort the confusion for a little bit
as i mentioned i try to do a Tut for for the install on Mavericks but its hard if you recall that i dont use a Mac

if anybody says that my statement here is BS then plz post hints and steps in here or sent me a PM i will sort them and put them into the Tutorial

so we all can be happy especialy the Mavericks users

I think you're getting it all wrong, or me, i don't know.

I've followed your steps, i downloaded the sound library update 1.5.0 and this is what i get during installation:



The installer automatically skips the destination select, and goes directly to my external HD (where i installed omnisphere at first)



While checking for the steam folder in my mac HD, i found this aliased version in the direction you gave me.



and just for more information, this is my actual omnisphere updates etc etc

 

I'm going to be putting together a team to try and solve any Omnisphere issues on the Mac side, unfortunately a lot of the guys are working on bigger projects at the moment so check back in a little while I get things moving. Luizcifer has been working to get things solved by himself for a long time and he should get some assistance, some weird issues on the Mac side that we're seeing.

 

well the Gui of Omnisphere does not look bad
we are getting there sure it could be easier
plz update the soundsource to 1.02 see if that works

as far as i know that you could get the error because the Patches 1.50 need that soundsource

the soundsources is where the samples are that the Patches need to work

so try this and let me know

I tried installing the 1.02 update and it comes up with the same error.

''Alert, files to be installed not found''.

Hi Friends

This installation issue can solve through follow the process
1) Repair Macinthosh HD Permissions
And
2) Cheange the date and time to 2010 Before for installation the file temporary ..later you can come back to the original date and time..

Hope it will solve 100%

now we just need someone who will test this

 

I was having the same problem with 1.5.1 patch library update. I used a program called Permissions Reset to reset the permissions for the entire install folder and then it found the install data. Maybe this helps.

greeting and excuse me but did you ever finish the tutorial. i have been wrestling with Omnisphere for at least 1 year. i had some sounds and now it says i have them all but when i open logic i am getting errors i was not getting before. saying my steam folder doesn't have write permission and it does. if anyone could assist me I can provide all the screen shots. i have installed omnisphere on my mac, uninstalled and everything. its frustrating because if i had windows i wouldn't have this problem but I have built my system around the mac.. lol fml oh well. just trying to get this thing figured out yall have a great day. again if anyone has a few moments i can give you all the info you would need and i will take some screenshots now just so i will be ready if anyone feel like helping.
