Hi Everyone, so I got nexus 4 (vr version) working on Apple m2 MacBook. Could someone tell me if I need to block any hosts, ip address etc?

 

is there an established method for deleting unwanted expansions on mac? can't seem to find one after searching. All the samples folders have weird names

I have another question, I am trying to add some other expansions to my nexus but I keep getting this error for any new expansions. Any idea how I can still use it? I can see the expansions and preview them but can't select it and get this error. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Good call. I have seen people recommend unblocking it, letting it access their site, and it will get data and re-index things correctly, fairly quickly. And then block it again. I am not a Nexus user, but if you look for that info you could confirm this pretty easily. Maybe even in the staggering 100 pages of this thread.

 

Thanks for your feedback. I just install the software as I downloaded it. I did not do any further blocking of the connection actually. Somepeople said this could happen if your factory libraries are not installed completely or if there is something missing

 

I installed the Nexus for the first time and imported old XP presets into Nexus 3-4 but it doesn't work. I also pressed update Nexus library location but that didn't help either. Since this is my first time using the nexus, I need help. Should I first download all the old files from the old nexus 3-4 or what have I done wrong? I would also like to install all other presets like the old ones in the Nexus 3-4. Thanks for the help in advance

From your query your problem is difficult to pinpoint. As regards the screenshot, it seems you are missing a soundsource xpansion for the corresponding presets.

I am replying in assuming that you only installed the latest release of Nexus 4.5.17 from sister site and carried over your old presets from earlier installation.
If this is what happened then in certain situations you are likely to encounter problems.

To run Nexus perfectly...
1. You need to install the latest release.
2. Then install factory ROM expansion 3 and 4

Now comes the tricky part.
3. If you want to use earlier presets and expansions from Nexus 2 (Dongle era) You will have to find the 3 essential folders [ The decrypted Presets folder, along with the respective NKS folder and Soundsource expansion folders]. Copy them to respective directories in present installation.

Now comes to most annoying part...

If you want to use the 3rd party presets released during the Nexus 2 era you will need all the expansions which the creator used to program that particular preset, otherwise it will show as the message you posted that this particular preset is missing a particular Soundsource and you need to install it...

So the solution....
Go for a clean installation.
1. Install the latest Plugin release
2. Install factory ROM extension 3 and 4
3. Find and download the gigantic 200GB+ of all Expansion including the Preset folders, NKS folders and the Soundsource folders. Cut and paste them in respective directories in the present installation.
4. Copy all the third party Presets too by same method.
5. Run the library tool by VR.
6. Run the Plugin, give some time to scan the presets and hopefully you are good to go....
