Isn't that the case with all of them music video tutorial companies? Although I would say they target (and thus value) newbies way to much.

These are some of the most famous online virtual education platforms. Except for a few people from Coursera and maybe a few others, you can't find professor-level educated teachers in these.

    Capture.PNG

Virtual education by illiterate people destroys the value of education and science and even the job of a teacher. and cause shallowness in understanding.

Wherever IT people enter and are engaged in training, the end is a pile of ashes.

dont turn this into another stupid thread.

Online education is fine, you can learn so much from the material you can get from the internet ...
there is the Library Genesis, wikipedia, youtube, etc all provide good resources.

I think sometimes you dont need a teacher, sometimes you just need to find people, with whom you can learn together - doesnt matter which topic.

Albert Einstein taught at Princeton and In Germany before he left. Richard Feyman was proud of his work as an educator. American poet A.E. Stallings who was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize is the latest sitting "The Professor of Poetry" in England and currently lectures at Oxford.

The list can go on and on and on. What do you have against brilliant people who are also educators?

I mean, I can agree that a lot of the tutorials are crap due to inexperienced tutors—though not all—but this is next-level.
Regardless, I think I've seen you around TW; your M.O. is savage hot-takes and looong blind-jumps, right?

:goodpost:This, and everyone else who accurately assessed that it's merely a platform.

I mean, unless we're actually going down this nonsensical road... and if we are, I'd like to be the first to say that Bandcamp needs to learn how to play its instruments, because a lot of Bandcamp albums are crap. :chilling:

The price was right. The only way to use udemy content is to get the hacked version, check it out then throw it away if it sucks, which most of them do. Certainly not worth paying for in any case.

You misinterpreted the quote. It is a simple explanation why it's difficult to find educational materials from artists you admire, yet tons of them from people you've never heard of.

I think the quality of tutorials has been going down for some time now in general. There are not many good quality tutorials around anymore. I am sure there are at least a few good ones for every topic, but there is so much content that is only a waste of time. Especially the new tutorials that are released are getting worse in my opinion.
Maybe we could have an extra thread or a section of the forum where good quality tutorials could be listed for different topics so finding them would be easier for people.

If the whole point of AI is for it to be more productive and smarter than products it is replacing; why do we need tutorials about it?

of even the top 5 music instructional video sites, Udemy is probably the worst. I bet something like 95% of the people who actually watch these do not pay for them; so I'm not sure how that is doing them any favors either. This thread is probably a bigger waste of bandwidth.

It must have taken a lot of effort from you to watch over 100.000 courses (less than half of what they have) on Udemy to make an informed decision. Gosh, that must have been hard on you, come to think of it, there are over 70.000 instructors on that website: Best chances are you must have watched tutorials from at least half of them to know that a majority of them worthless newbies posing as educators. Oh and you must be qualified in one heck of a wide range of fields to know they all suck, Mr. Polymath, because they have courses on literally everything! Impressive! Oh and all of these courses have reviews. For example that Phython course I saw on the home page, purchased by 1,894,213 students so far as they say, with 503,013 reviews with an average of 4.6. And thousand others. These must all be trash then. Thank you for informing us! We owe you so much more than you can imagine!

You'll easily find better information and help here on these forums than almost any paid tutorials.

Why would anybody "pay" for information in the age of internet & AI anyway ?!

Because AI is based on a trained large language model which contains information that is: vetted by professionals, vetted by unprofessional people, unvetted information. AI is not the definitive solution because if bad data goes in, bad data comes out. I use AI for a quick springboard to help kickstart ideas or find a route to the final solution.

Big industrial companies, professors, engineers, artists, doctors, writers, etc. and great people never produce educational videos of their work, because a famous company and person never reveals its secrets and this causes virtual online platforms to abuse these conditions and produce worthless content.

India is a country whose economy is based on agriculture, and America has invested in the software sector in this country. America handed over the hardware to China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. It means that the hardware products are produced by countries like Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, etc., and the software is produced by Indians. All this depends on American investment.

Expert Indians work for big American companies and less educated Indians commit fraud in the form of low-quality content production platforms.

First-class content is provided to students in American universities and several European countries, and the information waste is sold by low-quality Indian educational companies to less developed countries.

It is really interesting that nothing is thrown away and even the remnants of information are given to the people of weak countries. Information that nothing can be done with it.
