My Nektar is due for landfill - i never really used it, poor quality & was a faff to use. Added the KeyLab Essential 49 MK3 two months ago - love it !!..great build quality, streamlines with every DAW easily (especially Bitwig)....Cheers !!

    Hello @Bunford
    How you doing?
Just let me know if you've found what's your looking.

Right. Now I see the reason.
I would love to buy an 88-key keyboard with weighted keys someday.

I see. Is there any new updated script for it now?

Nice, I've also read reviews about CS12.
P1 also interested me at that time, in terms of controlling the DAW and VSTi.

    Have a great day

    Hello, @Gmartin
    How you doing?
    Many thanks.

    Great to know, thank you.
Do you work with same stuff too?

Yes, I still learn many functionality in this controller.

    So far so great.
Love the Analog Lab V, especially with tons of nice presets to play.

Saved all the tutorials to learn. Thank you.

    Have a great day

    Hi @Garamondo Furbish
    How you doing?

Yes, I visited them more lately. :disco:

    Nice to know.
Do the same things like you but with Chrome and other downloader.

    Subscribed...!!!
Live Looping is new to me btw.
If you hear my all musics that I made, it's more like music with different part/structure.
But Live Looping is cool things for me to try. :disco:
    Thanks for pointing.

    Nice to know the process.
And nice smooth fingers to play, hahaha :winker:

    Yes, I will try it.
It seems interesting to play. Thank you

Many thanks for all your help. :mates:

I'm curious why on Keylab Essential not provide any magnetic overlay like on the video?

    Hi, @activatorfly
    How you doing?

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear it.

Yes, when we can registering our products on the official web and download everythings we need, it works smoothly.
Somehow I hate the part when the official web difficult to access for the certain times on my case. But glad to know everythings great now.

Many thanks for sharing your experiences.

I'm curious about the pad, sometimes I have to tap it quite hard to get a stable sound.
If I tap it gently, sometimes I hear a sound, sometimes I don't hear anything. Is that normal in terms of velocity and stability?

its a means to differentiate the "premium" products, also you can do the same with a laser printer on paper, or you can just use some vinyl tape and mark it up however you like. the effect is the same. Only a few controls change from their default labels, among the various DAWS. daw-commands.jpg

also they're magnetic and since the essential series is plastic, they wouldn't stay in place...

    Okay, noted. :winker:

Yes, you're right. I forgot about it.

    Right, thanks for the info.

    Anyway,
Currently I use this midi controller on my PC.
Is it possible to install and use all the software from this midi controller on my second device? In this case it is my laptop.

Hello. Sorry for cutting in, but I have a question about the 49 Essential. Can you also assign each piano key to whatever you want? For example with Overloud TH-U guitar plugin I want to assign each effect to their own piano key. Like Delay on/off to C# , Reverb on/off to D# , Chorus, Flange, and Phaser to F#, G#, A# respectively and so on. Can that be done with this?

I had an OLD piece of junk KaySound keyboard that hardly had any functions, but I was able to do that (which was all I needed). However, I haven't been able to do that with the Arturia. I have the MCC software and I am able to map stuff to the pads, sliders, and knobs, but not the piano keys themselves. Just wondering if it was possible. Thank You Guys!

I had a Nektar LX25+ for a short while. Great keyboard, but I sold it for a keyboard with more keys and probably a smaller footprint overall. 49 would probably do the job for me, but I am considering 61 for my next keyboard (currently have an Arturia Keystep 37).

The Nektars in that line have nice keys, and they integrate so well with various DAWs too. Easy set up, imo. I really had no issues with mine, other than the size.

The main reason I sold my Nektar is I wanted something with a lot less depth to take up less desktop space and with more keys, and the Arturia I got definitely fit that bill. I haven't tried the Keylab, but I dont think you can go wrong with that or the LX49+. I'd suggest trying them out in a store though, if you can.

Have the Keylab Essential 61-key (MK2) and love it. Had the 61-key MK3 but I returned it because of bills. I really liked it though, the MIDI customization is great and it seems like the pads are a bit more responsive. When money permits, I'll get the 61-key MK3 again. Not a fan of the Nektar stuff. Had a few keyboards and they were buggy right out of the box. Returned them all.

I haven't done it but i've watched some videos of it, they just clik on the keyboard in midi control center to make it active and then you can map away..

Is anyone using these for Kontakt libraries? Wondering if the 88 key Arturia is worth the extra (as I'm also trying to learn the piano)?

I just bought a Novation Impulse 61 keys still learning what it can do. If anyone has one any tips would be appreciated. Solid build and stylish and of course had to set it up midi-ox ect but ready to explore :)

I used to own the Novation Impulse 49 and generally really liked it, and the Automap feature made soft synths way more usable by customising the knobs and faders to filters, cutoffs. ADSR envelopes etc. I only got rid of it because the keys stopped working for some reason....honestly, I did not spill rum inside ir

Not sure if the Automap features is still supported now or has it been end of life'd?! Also, it recently annoyed me that they pulled the authorisation servers for the B-Station and V-Station plugins I got for free with it, meaning I now have legit versions with license that is impossible to authorise, so having to use R2R versions instead.

Overall, really good controller keyboard though, just might be a bit outdated in terms of support now though, just to manage your expectations :)

I have been eyeing up the new Novation SL MkIII recently too. Looks like a pretty nice controller keyboard! I think this would be my go to if I was looking for a 49 key controller today and had the budget for it.

haven't tried it with Kontakt yet, but you'd probably want the Essential 88 key as the touch is more like a synth keyboard. The 88 key (non essential) is heavy around 50 lbs cause its metal and it has the Fatar hammer mechanism keyboard which gives it a piano feel but makes it harder to press the keys, if you have played a real piano it is very similiar, and it will build finger strength, but it took me a couple weeks to get used to it.( i dabbled in piano in my childhood and mispent youth so i knew what I was getting into)

Its a very nice keyboard with lots of room for all the controls and pads.I wouldn't bother with the wooden leg option, its overpriced and impractical unless you just want it to look like furniture. Get an adjustable height keyboard rack with wheels and you can zip tie a surge strip to the frame to plug in all your gear, lamps, speakers etc..much neater and useful package.has a shelf for a laptop, and a 22 lcd monitor fits nicely on the acrylic music stand...
