    the body will adapt, if you diet by reducing how much you eat, your metabolism will drop and your body will start storing more fat to overcome the low supply of resources. Eat healthy; Cut out refined carbs, drink plenty of water, sleep well and move about. Sleep is often overlooked and is so important in weight loss. Wok out the difference between craving food and actually being hungry. Drinking water if feeling hungry can often dispel the fake hunger.

    I've lost about 15kg recently. Most of what has been mentioned above is right although there are a few extra things to keep in mind.

    If you suddenly reduce your calorie intake you body will go into starvation mode (thank-you evolution). For most of the time humans have been around, they've struggled to get enough food so your body is well-adapted to periods of famine and will try to store calories to keep you alive if it thinks there's not much food around.

    Another thing is that increasing the amount of exercise you do will increase your appetite which can lead to eating more so be aware of this.

    What worked for me is a long, slow period of weight reduction where I avoided as many high-calorie foods as possible (especially "empty calories") and controlled my portion sizes. No snacks! No junk! I aimed to lose around 0.5 kg per week, any more and I get too hungry.

    And finally, you need to get used to the feeling of being hungry and not eating - this is hard and requires will-power.

    Red meat is NOT a superfood, full of saturated fats and directly linked to Bowel cancer, It's delicious but eat it sparingly. Take diet tips from anonymous people on a message board with a pinch of salt.(But watch your sodium intake).

    Sleep well and increase your protein intake while decreassing carbs. That's the more important part, more that exercise. You can hit the gym 1 hour a day and you will develop cool muscles under the fat but the fat will remain there if you don't go into a calorie deficit. The sole digestion of proteins burn a lot of calories and gets your brain to segregate leptin, the hormone for satiety, way better than any other food. Eat lean meat and eggs. While some here recomends going into the "hunger state" that will only make your body to adapt and cling to that fat longer. So don't starve yourself. Just eat until you're satiated which is easier and faster if you do it with proteins. Also you have to enjoy what you are eating or the chances of going back to sugar and other untrapalatable food like desserts will be high.

    Meat can be rabbit, that is 0% fat.

    Deserts can be 0% fat too.

    So depends. But starving is good for your look & for the planet too :thumbsup:

    There are many different types of diets because there is no such thing as a diet that works for everyone. Same goes for good/bad ingredients lists. It all depends on the individual and its current health and diet. For some people, increasing their red meat consumption could be a great thing, while for others, replacing it with fish or vegetables would be better. Amounts are crucial when it comes to nutrition. For instance, current science shows that saturated fat is not dangerous when it represents less than ~10% of our total calorie intake. So it's not a problem with a balanced diet, and is actually a very good cooking fat as it's very stable in high temperatures.

    That's why when they give general advice for everyone, dietitians and nutritionists will give very vague and broad advice. "Stay away from processed food, eat a balanced diet with a variety of foods, don't eat too much..." blah blah blah. It might be frustrating for people looking for a quick and dirty answer, like "Olive oil is liquid Jesus" or "Red meat is same-day delivery cancer", but these are rare. If you need advice, it's always best to consult a board-certified professional, multiple ones ideally.

    Red meat is food. Humans have been eating it since the beginning, it's certainly not poison. It might be a superfood for some, or something causing problems for others.

    All we can agree on, is fuck junk food, fuck sodas, and fuck sugar. And fuck those braindead social-media gurus telling people to only eat raw liver or that salad is all you need.

    Wholeheartedly disagree with the "effortless" portion. Losing pounds does take effort, unless you're sickly/drug addict. You are right in that you have to reduce your calories, but it's far from "effortless".

    The fat in your body is synthesized by your body - it is identical regardless of what you the source material was used to create it.

    What is heavier a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?

    If you are active, you will burn the calories you eat and you if you are super active you'll find it hard to keep weight on regardless of how much you eat.

    There was a time in my life where I consistently ate a whole chicken (5lbs+) fried or rotisserie with a loaf of bread or an entire baguette along with a two litter of coke (or equivalent) at least twice a day. and still had room for dessert or coffee afterwards. I ate an entire 1/2 of a sheep on a stick with salad in Greece one time before I was made to stop because it was 10 of us that went in on the entire sheep on a stick and I was being a douche bag.

    At that time it didn't matter what I ate or drank, my weight was consistently between 178lbs and 189lbs depending on whether I had my two daily shits or not.

    I also swam 2 miles a day, rode a stationary bike an hour every morning and walked a few miles with heavy gear strapped to my back daily. Only needed 4-5 hours of sleep daily and was almost never tired or at least never for more than a couple of hours at the most.


    Age and mostly will tend to be the main issues when it comes to loosing weight. Of course there are exceptions, if you are unable to move and have a disease that causes you to eat 50 hamburders with fries and kemchupp and drink 100 diet cokes a day and pathologically lie about being active or your ability to not move at all then no amount of will is going to overcome that until the root issue is solved.

    What is Ozempic®?

    Ozempic® (semaglutide) injection 0.5 mg, 1 mg, or 2 mg is an injectable prescription medicine used:

    • along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes.
    • to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or death in adults with type 2 diabetes with known heart disease.
    It is not known if Ozempic® can be used in people who have had pancreatitis.
    Ozempic® is not for use in people with type 1 diabetes.
    It is not known if Ozempic® is safe and effective for use in children under 18 years of age.

    Important Safety Information
    Do not share your Ozempic® pen with other people, even if the needle has been changed. You may give other people a serious infection, or get a serious infection from them.

    What is the most important information I should know about Ozempic®?
    Ozempic® may cause serious side effects, including:

    • Possible thyroid tumors, including cancer. Tell your health care provider if you get a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath. These may be symptoms of thyroid cancer. In studies with rodents, Ozempic® and medicines that work like Ozempic® caused thyroid tumors, including thyroid cancer. It is not known if Ozempic® will cause thyroid tumors or a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in people.
    • Do not use Ozempic® if you or any of your family have ever had MTC, or if you have an endocrine system condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
    Do not use Ozempic® if:
    • you or any of your family have ever had MTC or if you have MEN 2.
    • you are allergic to semaglutide or any of the ingredients in Ozempic®. See symptoms of serious allergic reaction in “What are the possible side effects of Ozempic®?”.
    Before using Ozempic®, tell your health care provider if you have any other medical conditions, including if you:
    • have or have had problems with your pancreas or kidneys.
    • have a history of diabetic retinopathy.
    • are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed. It is not known if Ozempic® will harm your unborn baby or passes into your breast milk. You should stop using Ozempic® 2 months before you plan to become pregnant.
    Tell your health care provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, herbal supplements, and other medicines to treat diabetes, including insulin or sulfonylureas.

    What are the possible side effects of Ozempic®?
    Ozempic® may cause serious side effects, including:

    • inflammation of your pancreas (pancreatitis). Stop using Ozempic® and call your health care provider right away if you have severe pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that will not go away, with or without vomiting. You may feel the pain from your abdomen to your back.
    • changes in vision. Tell your health care provider if you have changes in vision during treatment with Ozempic®.
    • low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Your risk for getting low blood sugar may be higher if you use Ozempic® with another medicine that can cause low blood sugar, such as a sulfonylurea or insulin. Signs and symptoms of low blood sugar may include: dizziness or lightheadedness, blurred vision, anxiety, irritability or mood changes, sweating, slurred speech, hunger, confusion or drowsiness, shakiness, weakness, headache, fast heartbeat, and feeling jittery.
    • kidney problems (kidney failure). In people who have kidney problems, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may cause a loss of fluids (dehydration), which may cause kidney problems to get worse. It is important for you to drink fluids to help reduce your chance of dehydration.
    • serious allergic reactions. Stop using Ozempic® and get medical help right away if you have any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat; problems breathing or swallowing; severe rash or itching; fainting or feeling dizzy; or very rapid heartbeat.
    • gallbladder problems. Gallbladder problems have happened in some people who take Ozempic®. Tell your health care provider right away if you get symptoms which may include: pain in your upper stomach (abdomen), fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), or clay-colored stools.
    The most common side effects of Ozempic® may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach (abdominal) pain, and constipation.

    I can also recommend and Spanish diet: "La dieta del cucurucho"
    Comer poco y follar mucho

    La dieta del cucurucho translates as ‘the ice cream cone diet’ in English.

    It’s the way Spaniards often talk about going on a diet, but mainly in a joking manner.

    That’s because of what follows la dieta del cucurucho in the rhyme - comer poco y follar mucho - eat little and have lots of sex.

    So when a Spaniard says they want to go on a diet (ponerse a dieta) to lose weight (perder peso or adelgazar), the other person will often suggest la dieta del cucurucho.

    They won’t necessarily go as far as mentioning the second more lude part of the rhyme, so la dieta del cucurucho acts as an innuendo.

    It’s an ongoing joke in Spain with people suggesting other ‘diets’ that they then rhyme with something a bit under the belt. Some examples are:

    Dieta del melón: siempre el mismo cabrón (The melon diet: always the same bastard)

    Dieta de la lagartija: primero con la madre y después con la hija (The lizard diet: first with the mum and then with the daughter)

    Dieta de la pasta: follar y follar hasta decir basta (The pasta diet: f*ck and f*ck until you say stop)

    Believe or not, if you Google dieta del cucurucho you will find a wide array of articles which actually sing the praises of this infallible method of losing weight.

    In any case, you can expect to hear la dieta del cucurucho mentioned a lot this summer, so it’s a great expression to know if you want to share some banter with your Spanish friends (perhaps not with your Spanish mother-in-law).

    Example:

    - Tía, me tengo que poner a dieta. ¡Es la hora de la operación bikini!

    - Pues ya sabes que recomiendan. ¡La dieta del cucurucho!

    - Mate, I need to go on a diet. ¡It’s operation bikini time!

    - Well, you know what they recommend. ¡The ice cream cone diet!

    This is demonstrably false, this myth has been debunked many times over. I told you, this information was not from someone on some message board - I consulted qualified experts, due to past health issues, and learned a lot. Did you not even read that?

    Processed meats are indeed dangerous. Perhaps you are conflating the two.

    pasta isnt pasta, you can even buy lentils pasta here and it doesnt make you fat or anything.

    i think you can find for everything in your list decent alternatives, which taste good, but have way less calories.

    i think if OP rethinks his diet here and there and eats mindful he will lose weight.

    And no working out for one hour doesnt work really today anymore, bcs our food is way to calories packed and also a lot processed.

    Meat because of the fat makes you also fat unless you eat beef which is almost without fat ( not all parts but most ) . Also carbohydrates ( bread ( no.1 fat ) , potatoes , rice , pasta , bakery products etc ) makes you fat . Last one is sugar ( coca cola , soft drinks , alcohol drinks , fruit juices are full of sugar ) and salt ( which keeps water in your body ) .

    eating fat doesn't make you fat, fat is either digested and use for things like making cholestrol or just pushed out the other end of your digestive system, if you've got floaters in the toilet thats fat, cause fat floats.

    carbs become sugar, sugar becomes fat. Fat does not become fat, because that's not how our digestive system works.
    fat becomes floaters
    also salt is sodium chloride, notice the chloride it is used to make hydrochloric acid in your stomach for digestion
    its one reason you die if you don't get enough salt, also salt is an electrolyte and needed for proper chemical and electrical balances in your body.

    what really makes you fat is eating more than your body needs to maintain itself, surpluses are used to create fat stores. no surplus, no fat.

    and its not magic, its because those are all processed foods that are calorie dense,meaning a small serving has a metric shit ton of caloric load.

    meat and fish and other proteins are much less calorie dense, and they additionally require the body to work harder to digest them which burns calories in and of itself, the lack of sugars and carbohydrates in protein means their is little to no surplus left over after digestion to create fat cells in the body.

    Proteins therefore cause you to be less hungry, less often, because they take longer to digest so the gut does not produce hunger signals to the brain saying, lets have a bite to eat soon..
